Really like Rags. -115 ML. Probably put a smidge on the RL too.
I like that..will have to look closer. Tampa has developed an M.O., cruise, make the playoffs then play. What about the Avs opening up Wednesday at -390 vs Hawks . Some teams we will not be able to bet on.

Also leaning Rags in this one ,but haven't pulled the trigger yet. What do you think about the Over 5.5 in that game fellas ?
I know it's probably Igor and Vas in nets, but opening day, and everyone raring to go I'm thinking there may be some scoring ?
Books might also try to take advantage of the Public thinking we have the two Vezina candidates here, but I seem to recall Vas getting off to a slow start last year.
Odds right now are -100, (2.00) so basically a toss up. Thoughts?

If you haven't realized, I am a team totals guy. Liking the Rangers tt over 2.5 -125 in this one. Overs are usually a good choice the first couple of weeks of the season.

@Rustie
would lean Over, but that's only a gut feeling based largely on what you are thinking. I like Rags side much better - this was the team that knocked them out in G7 after 3-0 series lead in ECF last Cup. That shit does not sit well in their gullets.
I bet 0.5u already Rags ML -115

@GASportsDoc
Like that TT might throw a sprinkle on that
Hawks game is a good Live Bet situation. See if Avs come out slow, or Hawks hot, and maybe get a decent PL on Avs. I don't have the time to watch games everynight, but if I can stay up thru 1P, we'll see. At +310 the implied win probabilities would lean dog for me. Maybe a +2 PL Prop if you have a site that has those. PL +1.5 is tempting for +money, but no play for me unless Live.

@Ju_lie
also agree. I think Kings are rising, as they got some good playoff experience last season, added some scoring talent off-season, and should be a legit playoff team. Feels like Vegas is in a reshuffle mode. GTMYH I would bet LA, but not a play for me.

i'm a sort of Total bettor, so NHL has been one of my great cash cows lately. However, i think i HAVE TO be super cautious this season. i take Over usually, but i guess 2 games will go fucking Under, and we will see another comical Unders tomorrow too. one Over i'm strongly leaning is AVS - Hawks 6.5O. some teams like Sharks, Jackets, Red Wings, well, these teams will show better performance, not sure their record will be better than last season. some opening lines tell me "YOU HAVE TO BE REALLY CAUTIOUS if you are Over backers". Leafs will lose with comical Under, 2-4 like that LOL. GL to all

@Moose6836
Wild should be a playoff team again. Lots of talent. Just hope MAF has something left in the tank, cuz if Father Time has finally caught him, I think the Wild will be a quick exit again. Good luck.

Hey Scripted,
Opening night for the NHL is Wednesday and Thursday. 32 teams would be too many games for one night. Colorado will raise their Stanley Cup banner on Wednesday night.
You've no doubt heard about "scheduling conflicts" between the major sports leagues when one's season is going into the playoffs and the other's regular season is just beginning? In another week, the NBA will have the same TV conflict with MLB that the NHL has right now. Everybody wants/needs the TV money...lifeblood, yeah.
Tuesday night (tomorrow) is a celebratory puck drop to start the season with an ESPN and TNT double-header. Course, the League wants to get the East Coast and West Coast TV audiences in the early/late Tuesday night double-header while avoiding (as best as possible) MLB which has both NL and AL Division Playoffs going tomorrow (8 teams/4 games).
Cheers

NHL played 2 games in Prague, Czech Republic to start the season, but it wasn't celebrated as opening night. Tomorrow is being advertised as something special, no doubt, but the big opening will be Wednedsay/Thursday. Kinda like back in the day when the Cincinnati Reds would always play in the first game of the new MLB season. The rest of the league would start the next day, but Cincy had the honor of playing the first game. Doubt the DH will become an NHL tradition to start each new season, but it would be pretty cool if they did.
