I hope you are all having an excellent summer in all regards.
I am running a series of updates from last year's NFL season.
Here , I will be updating the results from both the Hilton SuperContest and our very own here at the covers forum , the Hilton for fun contest .
This contest was originally started by Joe Public to mimic the annual Hilton SuperContest .
That contest had 349 contestants for the 2008-2009 regular season with an entry fee of $ 1,500
Out of the $ 525,000 , the actual winner received $ 210,000
PAYOUTS: 1ST $210,000 2ND $84,000 3RD $42,000 4TH $26,250 5TH-10TH $18,375 11-20TH $5,250
Another price is awarded to contestant with best record in the last 3 weeks of the season .
The leaderboard when it was all said and done looked like this :
FEZZIK 54-26-5 56.5 points
$210,000 The winner
THE BETTING DOCTOR 54-28-3 55.5 points
STYLIN' 54-28-3 55.5 points
$42,000 each for second place
LONDO 53-31-1 53.5 points
RONIN 52-30-3 53.5 points
BUCKEYE702 52-30-3 53.5 points
$ 14,000 each for third place
DR.B and DR. SAUCE 52-32-1 52.5 points
RUSSIAN1 51-31-3 52.5 points
It's CLOBBERING TIME 51-31-3 52.5 points
$ 8,750 each for fourth place
There were 20 contestants that occupied the fifth to 10th spot
each netting $ 918.75 .
The result of splitting the $ 18,375 price money for fifth to 10th spot .
Finally , there were 93 contestants that finished in the 11th to 20th spot sharing the $ 5,250 price .
Each of them netted $ 56.45
This is how I understand the prices were divided and it is not an official result.
Bottom line is that the top 9 contestants all got a return on their investment .
The record needed to achieve this was :
52-32-1
51-31-3
Wins count for 1 point , pushes for 1/2 point .
Next , the results from our contest for the 2008-2009 NFL season .
