The Contest works like this:
Each day you will select 1 team to win it's NCAA tournament game. If that team wins you advance to the next day. If that team loses you are ELIMINATED.. Once you select a team to win, you MAY NOT select them again for the duration of the contest. Example-You select Duke on Day 1 of the NCAA tournament--You may not select Duke again.
The last man standing takes home the pot. Last year was easy as The Schiss was the last man standing.
If two or more players make it through all 10 days of the contest (10 correct picks in a row) or the final contestants all lose in the same round the tiebreaker is as follows
TIEBREAKER--Add up the total seeds from every team you picked on each day. Whomever has the higher number is the winner. This rewards players who are a bit more RISKY during the contest.
A spreadsheet will be sent out every day with each members selection for that particular day. This will be sent out before tip off of the first game. Everyone will know each others selections before any game starts. Since I am in the contest as well, my pick will be sent to another member of the contest 2 hours before the pick deadline each day. You are free to ask this member to forward you my pick with a time stamp if you wish. You will then see my pick in the spreadsheet as well with all the other picks for that day.
This year I am running things a bit differently.
$100 per entry-I must have your check in hand by Monday March 16th. On Monday night March 16th (4 days before the tourney begins) I will email all entrants on how many people entered and what the pot is. If you are not paid by this date--You are NOT in my contest--Very Simple. I refuse to chase money as the tournament is going on.
The winner will get 100% of the pot-I do not take any money for running this contest, however I am taking a free entry this year.
50 paid entries is the limit to this contest. If I receive the 50th entry payment this contest will close. Pot goal for 2009 is $5,000. Last years was $2,600.
You can mail checks to the below address (no paypal option) Please also email me that you have sent the check and want a space.
