Hello all, I am sure most of you on the baseball forum probably remember me from last season. I cannot wait to get going this season and I have been resisting the urge to make some preseason plays. I simply can't do it, so I am counting down the days until April.
Anyways, last season I ran a pool with some friends and coworkers and it turned out to be a great success. This season I am going to run that same pool but it just dawned on me that I should invite my fellow covers baseball enthusiasts to participate it in.
The pool is very simple, and not like fantasy at all (I don't have that much time). It's an over/under pool. I generate an excel sheet and gets emailed to you. This sheet has the projected win total of all the baseball teams for the upcoming season. You simply select over or under that particular #. I also have a bonus point section, which is you correctly naming the division winner. So you make your preseason selections, and kick back and enjoy the season without having to make other commitments to the league.
I then create a master list and it gets sent to everyone in the league so everyone knows who each other picked, which of course eliminates any chance of cheating etc. I also sent out 2-3 updates throughout the season with projected win totals based on winning %, to keep it fun.
Last season was the first year I came up with the idea and we hd 17 people. I think this years pool will be even better with and I am anticipating 30+ people even before posting this on covers.
