It was great watching the dream team/vics game last week, much more entertaining than I thought it would be.
I'm still looking into the games for this week but I definitely like this game:
Brisbane Lions -5.5 Overall through the midfield and forward line I just think they are a little more potent and experienced than the Blues. Neither side boasts a good defense. Brisbane was close to Geelong the whole match until the last 5-10 minutes of the game, this will be much easier opposition. For the record, Brisbane won by 120 points last year in this meeting but I don't think that's too relevant this time around. I expect a win to the Lions by around 30 points.
More to come, I've decided to pass on the Friday night game although Collingwood should probably get it done considering the injuries to St.Kilda.

I'm with you. Brisbane ran with the Hawks and the Cats (away) as you point out. Cats seem to always beat teams in the final quarter these days. Watch the Lions game play at home verses away, very different and a lot more confident.

5 Additions to the round's selections, after a few weeks of few picks I
think we have the most selections for a round now this year. I
don't have time for comments now but at the end of the day all that
matters is the end result and not what you write about it before the
game starts. If you have any questions I'll be about.
Geelong -26.5 Port Adelaide +16.5 Kangaroos -26.5 Adelaide -38.5 Western Bulldogs -4.5 Previous selection:

Melbourne.....how is the weather there currently? Are we gonna have a slop-down, mudfest for the Cats/Tigers?
If so, I'd like the Tigers here....which is scary because I do not like to back against the Cats.
Anyone have the local conditions? Weather Channel says that 0.5 to 1 inch of rain is expected and cloudy. I will be watching this match live in my underpants getting slopped up on either Newcastle or Molson Light (OH HELL YEAH!) and would like to enter the fray on this one. Not sure which corner to back though. Need to find out more on the weather.

dude it is the wettest weather we've had in a long long time. The clouds are extremely thick and are not going to move anytime in the next 10 years by the look of it. Looks like constant rain all the time.
We do need the rain though, so so rare these days.
Don't underestimate the skills of gary ablett and jimmy bartel in the wet, they are wet weather specialists.

I knew about Bartel, but bloody Ablett too? Yikes........want to back the Tigers with the points, but Geelong is a nightmare to predict now.

I'm thinking I might back the tigers in the wet with a big spread, bit scary cause they could lose by 100
Ditto.
But if the weather in Melbourne is the worst in a long while, 28-ish points is a huge head-start. Richmond are no mugs and Geelong might just be happy to get out with a win, as they have been in recent weeks. A couple of times the 40-point margin has come from a 5-minute or 10-minute spurt of brilliance in which goals come raining down. Hard to see that happening in the wet.
Please keep us updated on the weather in Melbourne as we get closer to bounce. Cheers!

HoH, the weather will not change. Trust me, it is set to rain all day. I had to cancel a family BBQ because of it.
Yes it's harder to cover lines in the wet. I'm hoping Bartel comes through with another 40 possessions and 12 marks, 7 tackles, 3 goals as I remember he did in similar conditions once against Fremantle haha. Richmond hasn't been able to come within 70 points of Geelong in years, but admittedly they are playing better this year and the conditions will help them.
