Ending up well for NAB Cup as it was more clear IMO to pick towards the end...
Locked in already are the following:
Rich +16.5
Just love this spot after last year, coaches personal playing styles IMO have a major reflection on the way they want their team to play so I expect this game to stay close and thus I'm more than happy to take the points with the underdogs and besides I'm not a big fan at all of the Blues fab four (obviously minus Judd here) and then you take out Fev. If it wasn't for him a few years ago then the wooden spoon would have looked even worse.
As for one of the fab four Gibbs = Hewitt
Adel Pk or -2.5
Either pk or line should be ok here. I have mentioned many times before that I know my Adel sides and have great knowledge of where they are at as clubs. Very good spot here for the Crows as this won't be a high scoring game, however fitness and professionalism will nearly always win with the Crows over most clubs
Only other game I like at the moment is Melb +31.5. Will sit on that one first and see what happens with the Tigers first on Thurs night.
P.S. I will state one other reason for taking the Tigers 'only' if they cover. Maybe someone can guess the reason...

Pick for the Wooden Spoon is simple for me at the moment...Freo at $7. If they loose on Sun to Adel there is every chance they could start the season 0-4.

North captain Drew Petrie has broken his foot, expect their line to blow out a little.
both teams had decent pre-seasons, got to fancy the homeside against the line here.
i dont mind those tigers with the +16.5, carlton will be a little sketchy early on i'm thinking.
Hawthorn 'should' easily dispatch the Demons but these early games can be extremely erratic, -31 might be just a little inflated at this point of the season. GL to all this year, let the madness begin

I like the Richmond play. Hate to say it but I think the young tigers will able to hold the makeshift rubbish the Blue have at the moment. Still that game will be a no play for me as I don't like betting against the team dominate ruck / stoppage brigade which Kruezer and Warnock will do for the Blues.
What Gargamel said about Hawthorn and the line I completely agree with

In the last 5 years (and you wouldn't look any further for sure) Melb would have covered the 31.5 spread on offer this weekend 5 out of the 6 times these sides have faced in that period...interesting even when Melb won the wodden spoon. The only time the Hawks would have covered was Rd 1 2008.
Some teams just have trouble with others.
And SirG I believe Petrie wasn't going to play anyway due to suspension so the broken foot wouldn't have moved the line

Agree with your picks Miracle, alot of my mates a very pessimistic about the crows chances against freo and i don't know why. Despite the injuries the crows are still fielding a strong team and i think everyone is reading into freo's form in the NAB cup way too much.
I'm staying away from any plays this weekend but the two plays I would consider would be tigers and crows. In fact I will look more closely near game time with the crows a possible play.
And I think the blues will be rubbish, at least tomorrow night anyways.

yep your right Miracle, Petrie is susp..i missed that, the line is about right for this time of year i guess.
not sure who is going to be kicking Carlton's goals this evening, looks like a shitfest of a game to start the season. Still, Richmond are very light in the talent stakes...hard to take them, think i'll watch & see then possibly take advantage of the live-in-game betting.

I agree that the numbers will reflect Freo's preseason but there are also to many questions around Crows players and position changes. Not saying Freo doesn't have its own problems.

Hawks are beginning to look like the Hawks of last year. I mean you know a team is desperate when it is thinking about using its full forward to share rucking duties.

You are correct Bolar as the Hawks did win that Rd1 game in 2008 by over 100 points but the second time they played them when the Hawks went on the win the GF and Melb won the wooden spoon they would have covered this weeks spread of 31.5
Would love to tell you boys how I know what team Adel is going to field this week but I simply can't. From what I know I'm more then happy to still take the Croaws this weekend. I'm breaking one of my golden rules by taking an away side playing interstate but then again the lines almost at pk and we are talking about Freo
Tigers IMO find a way to play a style of football that keeps this game close and from the sides I find one player who'll stand out more then most and keep this game close off his own back, can't say who but he has won a brownlow, been an AFL captain and played in a Flag...just watch and see what it takes to be a champion player tonight and see how someone can carry a side

yep, 10 pt intervals ..i.e over 176 $1.10 under 176 6.50, ov 186 $1.22 u186 3.75,o 196 1.45 u196 2.60, o 206 1.85 u 206 1.85 etc...same with the point spread, also has standard moneyline on offer
jumped on the carlton line this evening, around -30, -34, -36..made a nice little profit for the evening in the 4th quarter.
