A poor start to the season, but I'm being lazy and playing games for action more than any other reason which is poor on my behalf so I do apologise.
Last season's bomb plays were flawless and to find potentially two in one round is nice!
PLAY #1: Port Adelaide Power -51.5 against Essendon Bombers
My beloved Bombers, how good it was to see them go against all the odds and win a game this season when everyone said they wouldn't.
But I think they get shot back down to reality this week against a desperate Port Adelaide side who came off a belting in the derby against the Crows.
A friday night packed house at AAMI stadium is pretty much as hostile as it gets for a young bombers team and this one should get nasty, similar to the preseason games where Essendon were getting belted by 70+ points.
Analyse it how you will, but I think Port will pack on the points in a real hurry and Bombers won't be able to keep up at all.
PLAY #2: Geelong Cats -55.5 against Brisbane Lions
A lot of points to lay but the Lions are another basketcase team that don't have much going for them at the moment. They've lost captain Rockliff for the next fortnight and their next relatively good players in Rich and Robinson are only a 50-50 chance to play with lingering injuries.
Geelong's first game at Skilled Stadium this season; a ground they have made a haven in recent years.
A lot of my plays are made not off statistics but off the feel of games as I often watch every single one weekly when possible.
Once again, tail at your own risk and let's see if we can bounce back and have a 2-0 weekend!

Same view on Power buddy, and glad to see you refocused. Money time on your views. Likely gonna play Lions at this stage, but still formulating... Can't wait!

Will look to fade Essendon in two scenarios; interstate games against strong opposition and any line under about 9-10 goals.
It's inevitable that we see them get blown out by 80-90-100+ pts. They vsed a Suns team first up who were horrible and a Demons side who were immediately overrated after their first round win against GWS. These are still poor teams; put Essendon up against the Eagles in Perth or Sydney at the SCG and they will be put to the sword. I'm expecting a similar scenario in Adelaide this Friday. Remember last season when Port put on the most blistering performance against the Hawks and were up by something like 50 pts at quarter time. Taking a quarter or half time line in this game wouldn't be the worst idea but I'll play it safe with the Dons running out of legs and Power piling it on to build their percentage.

Bombers are shyte but not taking the total piss as of yet. Port has underachieved to what they have been expected. Books know now that punters will be laying whatever against Essendon by now. +51.5 looks about 10 points too many to me.
Be careful.

Why do you think the Adelaide line is so short? I reckon they should've been at least close to a 10-point favorite. Pre-season expectations still hanging on?
Tigers have looked like garbage and they're banged up considerably. Adelaide has looked great and have a full list to choose from.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the well wishes boys. Still strong on the Port play. No late changes.
HoH - Tigers are decent enough to compete with anyone and playing in Melbourne. Think a PK here is spot on. Majority of interstate teams don't travel too well. Look at the Eagles who are an elite team: they've won something like 3 out of their last 17 games at the MCG. I would lean Tigers here, they have copped it all week about their last second loss to the Pies and Captain Cotchin has been put through the wringer for being a poor leader and always getting cheap possessions.
Ecoute - been dealing with it for years, I'm at the point where I just follow the AFL for enjoyment rather than barracking for a particular team but will always have Bombers blood.
Best of luck this weekend fellas, let's see if Port can make me some money tonight!
I'd still play it at -51.5 but now managed to get it at -45.5
Lucky I blow a truckload of money with Sportsbet and they let me cancel bets with sufficient reasoning
