Can someone please explain, wiseguy, and steam play.

Question

I know what they are but my question is. How do they decide between wiseguy or recreational player? I realize amount of wager is the key. What exactly is a steam play?

I ask because I have a couple of accounts and I am definately a recreational player. My bankroll allows me to play only $250 a game for now. It has grown and hopefully will continue to grow. I am curius if my bankrill grows and I play$ 3000 a game. when do you crossover from recreational to wiseguy.

I have two accounts one I am trying to build my bankroll and I only play one play a day there and win about65% so It has grown tremendously. The other is smaller and I play more games and mostly money lines games there.

I just want to understand the difference. I know some sportbooks do not pay out to wiseguy's and steam play moves and i just want to know what all that crap means.

Wiseguy is someone with inside info on a consistent basis. Usually lives offshore or in Vegas.

A steam play is when a syndicate wagers heavily on a certain side at multiple locations (used to be land-based casinos, now offshore as well) in order to affect line movement. One the line moves, public hops on and can really get a line, or a total moving. It if moves enough, the sharps will hit the other side in hopes of middling.

you are a recreational player and will not everr be a wiseguy...the amount doesnt determine wiseguy...

u can bet 250 per game and be considered sharp...but that isnt determined by one season of betting....u bet the same guy for a few years at 250 per game and hit 65% and believe me u will be consdered sharp and he will move his line on you little 250 bet..
