I realized my previous thread heading was out of date, and didn't want to confuse any of the three people actually reading this.
Anyway, it's the NCAA LAX Final Four this weekend in Foxboro (sometimes more pretentiously spelled "Foxborough"), Mass. Weather is supposed to be great, so it's really just a matter of matching up the teams.
Let's take a hard look at Game #2. - Duke will kill Johns Hopkins.
Lay the 3.5 at -110. I like Dook to win this 14-7 or so. They beat them 17-6 earlier in Durham. This is really an awful sopt for the Blue Jays, as Hopkins has beaten them twice in national title games (Dook has never won one), and both times Duke had the better team. Here the have the REALLY better team and should look to pay back JHU in a big way.
As for for Game #1, I think the more talented team has been cast as the underdog. Virginia is the only team in the country that can match up, even a little, talent wise with Duke. I think they have three guys who all would be the best player on Syracuse. With that said, SU is tougher, and UVa has a nasty habit of starting very slowly. They also should get dominated in the face-off circle. Virginia won the first meeting in OT, in a game UVa had pretty much in hand until late. SU is better now than they were then. I can't really tell what Virginia's doing. They look great in spurts, and have been amazing in close games late, but I worry about the Orange building a big lead and essentially playing keep-away. Still getting the better team at +2 -110 is good value. SU will need to win by 3 to beat you, and while I could see that happening, I think a 12-11 game is far more likely. Also like Virginia to win outright at +175.
