I had a Hurley's account too and am very cranky that Hurley didn't have the decency to notify it's loyal customers of the sale to Luxbet. Very surprised to find out about the sale when I tried to log into my Hurley's account this morning only to find that it was closed and was subsequently redirected to the Luxbet site.
My main attraction to Hurley's was the ability to do live betting online (without calling up the centre) and the quick payouts.
Like you, I don't know much about Luxbet but am considering closing my account altogether. I had a pending wager today that was transferred from Hurley's to Luxbet and the winning payout took ages to settle. They don't seem to have any live betting and have not yet released their odds on the WNBA market as I type this.
Maybe someone in here can shed some light on this issue. Does anyone here know of any local sportsbook that allows live betting online without ringing up the call centre? I already have a centrebet and acumen account but would love to be able to submit live bets online wihtout having to call.

D-Play it's against the law in Australia for bookmakers to offer live betting over the internet (i.e. to place live bets you must do so over the phone).

I know Rod but I've been with Hurleys for over 4 yrs now and they've always been offering live betting online. I wasn't going to question/ complain as long they keep offering it
Used to be able to pound Hurleys for some major guarantee $$$ with some of their dumb mistakes like leaving a live betting game open after the game has re-started. They actually paid up which surprised me even more

Hey D-play, the reason Australian's were able to bet live with Hurley's is that they only offered lines on the second half. So in essence they were using a loophole which meant they were betting on an outcome which hadn't actually started.
From what I've heard Luxbet will do something similar, but as they have only opened their doors for business this week it make take a little bit of time for them to work out all the kinks and get things flowing smoothly.

I haven't used them yet myself, but I do listen to SEN 12 hours a day and they are advertising heavily on that station. Had a quick look at the site, didn't look anything special but they're only new...

Yep they're only new to the game and it's too soon to tell how good thy'll be.
I did ring and speak to them and they've indicated that they're still new to the game BUT will intend on offering most of what Hurley's used to offer. I think Sparkus8 is correct about the AUS leagl loophole about Live 2H betting over the net as opposed to the phone. I did mange to place a live 2H online bet on one of the US sports the other day and it went thru fine. Although their live betting market has been very limited at this stage.
The upcoming NBA season probably will tell us whether or not LB will offer live beting as promised.AB it is probably better to wait till then to make a decision if the live beting is what u are after. Other than that they have a comprehensive list of sports to choose from. One good thing about this book is that they open 24hrs as opposed to Hurley's which closes at midnight every night.
