The field includes Yohan Blake (who beat Bolt in the 100m and 200m at the Jamaican Trials and is the defending 2011 world champion), Asafa Powell, Tyson Gay (who appears to be healthy and due for some good luck) and Justin Gatlin. If you go by this years performances Bolt should be +200 to win but Vegas knows that we all remember the last Olympic games when Bolt literally ran away from the field. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Will Usain Bolt win the 100m Dash? No +140

Will LaShawn Merritt win the Gold Medal in the 400m Dash? Yes -120
The USA men have dominated this event throughout the modern Olympic era winning the gold 20 out of 27 times. In the last three summer games the USA has collected 8 of the 9 medals in this event. The USA traditionally wins the 4x400 by a large margin and is again heavily favored this summer.
LaShawn Merritt (43.75 PR) is the defending Olympic champion in the event and his performance at the USA Olympic trials was very impressive. He was able to easily pull away from the field in the final 100m ... a very good sign for Merritt backers.
His main competitors are Kirani James (44.36) from Grenada and Luguelin Santos (44.45) from the Domincan Republic. Tony McQuay (44.49) from the USA is coming off a long collegiate season and I would guess Merritt saw his best performance at the trials.
Merritt should be motivated to defend his title and dismiss criticism for a doping conviction that forced him to miss more than a year of competition. Predicted order of finish ... Merritt-James-Santos

i apologize for not knowing that Merritt pulled out of a tune-up race on July 20th because he had a hammy cramp. that is never a good sign in a sport like track and field.

Lines are moving at my book. Bolt opened at +160 ... he is down to +105. Merritt moved from -120 to +130. i considered buying out of the Merritt play but it's too late now. hopefully he is fully recovered from the "cramp" he suffered on July 20.
