I know I know, you guys are saying WTF? Betting in netball?
Something to keep me occupied until NBL returns. My theory is that the bookies would not be as sharp on netball as with other major sports. Anyway, doing okay at the moment. Painful to watch but there are a couple of hotties that make it worthwhile occasionally. Also, something to watch during breaks on MNF.
This evening I like OVER 98.5 Mystics v Magic

I think the overs are value also because teams are improving their team work and scoring more quickly, which is to be expected given they are new teams in a new comp. Books are averaging for and against to get totals which doesn't factor in improvement.
Still pretty naive but starting to get a bit of handle on the comp. I think there is a fair bit of volatility between results partly because one butter fingers usually means two goals to the opposition - they score on the turnover then get the centre pass and score again - so a couple of sloppy passess can effect whether a team covers or not.
I played Firebirds to win it all 2 units @ $6.50. I think they are the best team in the comp in the moment or at least close to it. Romelda Aitken has found her form in the last two games after a slow start. Last week she hit 58/60 97%, previous week 48/54 89%.
An indication of their improvement is they beat the Fever in round 1 by 2 @ home then bet them by 19 away in round 5.
They have a bye this week then play the vixens at home who i think are the other main contender. Given the way they mauled the swifts in the second half last week I like them to win this game.
I would be interested in any thoughts on tomorrows games. My leans are:
Tactix -10 - Tactix sit 5th on the table, although I think the top 4 are alot better. That said goal percentage counts for the top 4, so I think Tactix will try and rack up a score against the Pulse who have had a tough draw but there second best losses were by 17.
Vixens +1.5 - Thunderbirds only lost by one in the earlier encounter in Melbourne, which suggests they should get the job done at home. However, having seen some of their game last round I was not very impressed and think Vixens are the better team. Probbaly won't play this though. However, have played the over 93.5 for two units. My forecast is for this to go slightly over 100.

Damn, Binomial. This is good insight. Didn't know there are that many followers in this sport. (3 in total on my count...hehe)

Not sure about the second game B_S. One result to reflect on is Vixens @ Swifts where they won by 1 after swifts self destructed in the last minute. Thunderbirds appear to be a few goals better than the swifts. Doubt i will take a side in this one.
