I am somewhat new to this site and I was wondering if anyone actually takes the free picks that the handicappers on covers give out. So i guess my question is, does anyone take any of the free picks often and win money?
I was thinking about taking a teaser with the free NCAAF picks for today. As I don't know much about NCAAF.. Does anyone think that's a good idea? obviously I would still do research on those picks...
Thanks in advance.

@OP I think it definitely a good idea to know what people are saying who is generating buzz and also, as you said, still do your own research.
IMHO in order to get the absolute edge you need to gaterh more information than everyone else So it's definitely worth getting their opinions.
With horses for example, IMO often the best bet is to go with the one that pays out least. Alternatively you can bet on the one that pays out 2nd to least and then go with the safe bet as a hedge. If you bet both to place you may make a better payout if they both make place. Of course this only works in sports like horse and dog racing where you have more than two contenders.
Of course using what I stated above both could loose both bets and you could loose it all but in many cases you will reduce your loses and are likely come out a little ahead if the odds are stacked right. It much more complicated than I am making it sound though. And always a good idea to do your homework a tidbit of info at any time could make the difference between a win and a loose for you so the best I idea is to look everywhere and gather as much information as possible because you never know where that golden nugget will come from.

I this is true, this is very good and more than enough to make you win more often than you loose and as such it could be good way to make some money providing you got enough of a bankroll to keep going and ride the waves both up and down. With a good plan you should be able to leave ahead.
