Just letting you know that I just watched a news sports clip regarding the 36's tomorrow night...
Smyth wants alot more energy, and is expecting a very up-beat tempo game....should be interesting to see what type of line my book has it set at. The present line on Unitab (a book I very rarely use because of there price - $1.85) is 203.5 with Adelaide -3.5 favourites.... any thoughts more than welcome.

my two cents is if i forecast the score based on totals for both teams year to date i would suggest the total posted by bookmakers is about right maybe 1 or two points too high.
however given west sydney's stated intention to return to running around like lunatics and that they were very successful doing this on wednesday night my feeling is that this could go over 220 and that over 204.5 is a very solid bet.
take it easy.

Interesting info, I'll be on the look out for something similar from Smyth in the print media as well. My only concern would be that the Sixers aren't putting up the numbers at home this season. Pigs would definitely have to control the tempo in this one and drag the Sixers along as 200+ has proven pretty tough for the Sixers to hit in the games they have been involved in this season.

fair point rod although adelaide have generally had low scores against better defensive teams - they scored 94 against gold coast, 82 against townsville who have gone from being the ultimate sieve to quite strong defensively in recent weeks, 85 v Melbourne early in the season when they were playing better.
west sydneys defense is fairly poor and even if it wasn't a crazy pace i wouldn't be suprised to see adelaide get 100.

I'll be hitting the Over in a large fashion (but hoping the under hits in nights game, someone needs to guard Harvey!).
Both sides will run the ball, both will have great energy and the Razorbacks know that to win, this is their style, in the NBA the Suns, Kings and Warriors don't stop running because it might not have worked in their previous game...styles are styles and if Adelaide is looking this way, this makes for the obvious choice and we 'all' know Razorbacks will continue to run.

After sleeping on the above game, I've decided to take the Razorbacks with the SU win...you can get 2.5 & 3.5 with certain books.
Reason why:
1. Adelaide's coach is really under the pump, and I think it's just a mater of time before you wont see Symth in charge, but more than likely this won't happen until the end of the year out of respect for the man;
2. Their import isn't playing well, and by the look on his face... let's just say her is also under the pump (which has been admitted by Symth), and is lacking some serious confidence;
3. Adelaide is changing their style of play to a more up-tempo which only suggest that they don't have the quality of players to pick 'their' own style, and have to change to suit their opposition. An example of this is, Symth stated only two weeks ago that they were very happy playing defensive basketball, and now they want to try....
4. And my final thought is that running sides, such as the Razorbacks get a real feel for the game if they played only a couple of days ago (and I know Adelaide also did). Once you play sport for as long as I have (at a reasonably high Aussie Rules level) you get to understand how much fun it is palying your sport when your energy and fittness levels are at that 'correct' spot. And besides the Razorbacks are nearly at full strength.
I will be going to the game, and based on the above I will be taking the Razorbacks SU, I believe they win by at least 5...but more than likely they win by 10 - 15.

Got to do some Xmas shopping so I wont be back in before I go to the game, but feel free to add comments.
