A heads-up on the above play on Bendigo, the Spirit have to win one of their final two games this weekend to book a playoff berth. Tonight is definitely their best chance imo against a Logan side that is basically playing for nothing.

Tomorrow night they face Townsville in Townsville which will be a huge ask against a high-tempo team that will also be motivated by consecutive home losses and the chance to secure hca for the finals.

I also got a little tip-off today that two of Logan's starters won't play tonight. Cassie Smith (dislocated her knee at training last night) and Bianca Abbott (fractured knee). Logan do match up pretty well on Bendigo but their performances have really tailed off in the second half of the season and with two of their key girls out against a Kristy Harrower-led Spirit that has it all to play for, I see only one winner in this situation.    

The AIS kids haven't won a game yet this season, have they?

ahh, AB, if only I'd seen this post half an hour ago I'd have said go for it.

Perth comes into this game on a horrendous schedule - last weekend they had a double header on the east coast, so they flew home monday, then they get back on a plane and fly back across the country for a friday turnaround. And for what ? THey can't move up or down on the ladder.

The AIS girls have been big improvers over the last three or four weeks, a stinker in Tasmania vs Dandenong aside, they have actually been pretty competitive for long periods in a few of their recent games.

I felt like tonight they would really rev up for this game seeing as an opportunity to break their duck against the only team in the comp they're realistically capable of beating.

geez I'm surprised by that line in the NBL tonight, Tigers +8 ?

Terrific game of WNBL on ABC in about an hour's time for anyone who can has a chance to watch it - Canberra vs Bulleen.

This game pits Lauren Jackson against a girl who is probably destined to be an international super star of the game as well in Liz Cambage. This girl is only 18 years old but an absolute giant and a terrific talent.

Game is live now but is being replayed on ABC in about an hour from now.

I was really wanted to bet Canberra in this one as I had them as slight favourites here and they are priced at $2.  But my gut has told me this one is a little too close to call so I will sit back and watch this one and get a guage of how these teams match up now that LJ is in the mix for Canberra with a view to their future meetings in the finals.
