Come one, come all! To the greatest show on earth. I mean, the most fixed show on earth! 

The National Basketball League

After a wonderful Saturday here in North America, or Sunday for you Aussie's, we are left with one beautiful basketball game left to wager on! Our feature match up for tonight is the ShowTime (or lack thereof) Hawks versus the Perth (we can shoot the 3) Wildcats!

The line for tonight's match up is currently at:

Wollogong Hawks +5 / Perth WildCats -5

Over/Under 165


Tonight is the last game from Round 10 of 25, and is being played not in Perth, but in WOLLOGONG!!!!!!

Back in Round 5 (five), Perth defeated Wollogong by a whopping 16 points. Keep in mind, this defeat was in Perth.

And again in Round 7 (seven), Perth once again defeated Wollogong by 16, but this time, their triumph occured in Wollogong!

Both games totaled right around where the over/under is set for tonight. With Round 5 totaling 158, and Round 7 totaling 156 respectively.

Will tonight be any different? 
Do the ref's bet on the games?

There are many questions to be answered tonight and there is only one place with the answer. 

The problem is, I do not know where this place is. 

Tonight, I believe we are going to be looking at a high intensity game from the Wollogong Hawks. Having only won one (1) of their last 4 games, they need a victory tonight. The thing is, every team needs a victory every weekend in the NBL. That is what makes this league so great. 

In both of their matches this year, Perth has scored 8 three pointers on 22 attempts.
 These three's usually came in bunches, and caused large momentum shifts in the games. In both games, Perth was able to grab 16 offensive rebounds in each game, or 32 total. Wollogong was only able to pull down a pitiful 13 offensive rebounds, with five coming in Round 5, and eight coming in Round 7. 

Can Wollogong do a better job on the boards tonight?
Do the refs bet on games?

Perth dominated the points in the paint for both games, racking up a combined 84 (yes, 42 in both rounds). Wollogong through two matches has only scored 36 in the paint. 

Wollogong is giving up about 23 turnovers a game to Perth. This is too many if they want to win. They will need to value every possession tonight, and I'm not sure if they can. Last week, the Hawks only racked up 11 turnovers and lost the game by 1 point. 

I would like to think that Wollogong can keep this one within 5 points. Push is coming to shove for Wollogong, and Perth is one of the top tier teams in the NBL. They can use this game at home to build some momentum going into next weeks match up versus Adelaide.

I would like to think that this game goes UNDER the posted total of 165.

I took a snapshot of a NBL feed about a month or so ago when two announcers were talking between quarters. I had a good chuckle when I saw this fellow and figured he would make a good avatar.

Cats looking to blow the doors open early in this 3Q. They have started to push the tempo of the game as well and the Hawks are struggling from the field

Hawks may be the worst team in the NBL.

This is a strange league in that any team can make a big run in a short amount of time. But the Hawks are much too stagnant on offense.

The over should be good now even taking into account how anaemic the Hawks look on offense

Cats should more than make up the shortfall in scoring. They are continuing to the push the tempo of the game

Hawks must be betting on their own games.

Are they even trying?

I see a +5 line and figure that they lost the previous two by 16, so this would have to be a trap? 

Everyone must have been on Perth tonight, except for myself.

From what I've heard it's the purity of the competition - ie just the best athletes of tomorrow giving it everything they've got, not for the sake of their next big contract (although a small percentage of the players will obviously have realistic aims of advancing to the NBA /NFL) just because they want to win.

Basketball wise:

Gotta roll with MGMs play of East Washington +3
I just capped it and they look like a legit play.
Fullerton may have the offensive advantage, but East Washington has a better defense.

Memphis -10.5 -- in my books Murray St. hasn't beat anyone except for Dayton. Publics all high on Murray St. They shot 55% from the field and 60% from 3 versus Dayton....If they do it again against Memphis, congratulations to them. 


Football wise:

Arizona +4
Oakland/GB Under 51.5

I've been having terrible luck on Sundays,  but I'm locking in Memphis, East Washington and Arizona (NFL) before I go to bed.

Football wise --> I might wait around for 2H bets. But I like AZ to win straight up against San Fransisco.


Oakland/GB under is a very testy bet because Rodgers will likely put up 28-42 points. But GB has been running the ball WAY more than usual. I think they are trying to grind out games a little more and give Rodgers less chances of getting hit. 

These 4 bets could very well go 4-0 tomorrow my friend. It's hard to not follow that MGM_grnd fella, he seems to win a majority of his picks.

As I sit here thinking about that Oakland/GB game -- it is the riskiest bet on my card.

I like AZ Cardinals. I think SF gives the ball a lot more to their secondary running backs. Gore has bad knees and they already have the division clinched. A loss this weekend means nothing. Not saying they will tank the game. All NFL players play with some kind of pride. But when Arizona is walking off that field with the cover, I won't be surprised.

Surely the $1.05 team ddnt turn up? Surely if they turned up they win....whgat happened to the players giving it their all every night?

College sports are far more tribal in their following compared to the pro sports simply because it is more regional. Also their is a strong alumni concept in the states, even years after students gave graduated from colleges they still want to keep a close eye on what is happening in their college.

That comes down to pure volume of games played - it may seem that a lot of the big priced underdogs cash compared to the NBA but end of the day, if you throw enough darts one of them is going to hit.
