The Dallas Desperados (10-1) became the first team to earn a playoff spot this season and with a win at Columbus on Saturday, can clinch the Mitsubishi Motors Eastern Division championship and earn a first-round playoff bye.
Chicago, Colorado and San Jose will all try to clinch playoff spots on the road as the teams travel to Arizona (3-9), Grand Rapids (3-8) and Nashville (5-7), respectively. Georgia hosts the streaking Tampa Bay Storm (5-6) on Saturday, May 26.
All four teams that can clinch playoff berths this week have competed in a recent ArenaBowl with San Jose taking the ArenaBowl XVIII title, Colorado ArenaBowl XIX and Chicago ArenaBowl XX.
