Injury reports are pretty difficult to come by in this new AAF league..

However I was able to glean injuries that could have an effect on this weeks game between the Salt Lake Stallions @ Birmingham Iron..

The status of Salt Lake Stallions quarterback Josh Woodrum (hamstring injury) will not be announced until just before the game, the Stallions’ other two quarterbacks...Matt Linehan and

Austin Allen have been preparing to play against the Iron..they both played in week #I vs.the Express...

On the Birmingham Iron side............

Starting running back Trent Richardson was downgraded to a DNP for Thursday’s practice.

Tight end Braedon Bowman the player who caught the first pass in Birmingham Iron history won’t play this week and has been placed on injured reserve, after he suffered a knee injury..

Three other Birmingham players suffered injuries Sunday-- offensive lineman Korren Kirven (knee), receiver Amba Etta-Tawo(knee) and defensive back Trovon Reed (ankle ) -- did not practice today, and coach Tim Lewis Lewis said they are not expected to play this week.

Looks like it is easier to dial up another QB in this league of limited talent ..than to replace all those injuries on the Iron side..

Sunday 8 p.m. ET Atlanta Legends @ San Diego Fleet ..

Both teams will be looking for their first touchdowns ..as neither scored one in week #1..

The weather forecast calls for PM rain/wind 20mph..to make things more difficult The San Diego Fleet will have a change at QB..... Philip Nelson will replace Mike Bercovici (Arizona State) he's the one that got his helmet knock off on a brutal hit.. kept playing ..tough guy.

Bercovici lasted three quarters, completing 15 of 25 passes for 176 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Even with rules that limit blitzing, Bercovici absorbed six sacks....six sacks ..

The Fleet needs better "O" line blocking or a more mobile QB with a quicker release..So they will be going with Nelson ( East Carolina 18 td's 8 ints Sr. year)....

Nelson came in in the 4th quarter completed 5 of his 10 pass attempts against the Commanders for 68 yards and one interception. He also ran the ball three times for twenty yards...he has good athleticism, showing comfort running out of the pocket.

On the other side the Atlanta Legend defense that allowed three scores through the air in their 40-6 week one loss to Orlando.The Legends had only one sack last week which bodes well for Fleet quarterback Philip Nelson... Legends QB Matt Simms is the son of former New York Giants quarterback and Super Bowl XXI MVP Phil Simms..Matt went 15-28, 126 yards last week..

Of note: Although the Legend's offensive coordinator is Michael Vick ..I wouldn't take the dog in this game.. Fleet favored by -9.5..

One thing stood out to me today ..in both game the players didn't arm tackle ..like in the NFL ..they put their shoulder into the tackle ..and all the players play to the ball.

There's not many yards after the catch either...refreshing to see.
