The Birmingham Iron (2-0) will be on the road for the first time this week,,... and defense is the name of the game for Birmingham ..
Their “Iron
Curtain" defense is only allowing 4.5 points per game..and has yet to give up over 10 points in a game .
The Iron boasts
the best passing defense and second-best overall defense in yards per
play.... with no touchdowns
through the air.
On offense QB Luis Perez who has a strong arm and can make accurate throws from
the pocket...he has no interceptions ..their scoring production could be hampered due to all three of the Iron’s tight ends are on the shelf nursing injuries...and having to hire receivers fresh off the street recently..
After two road games The Atlanta Legends (0-2) face the Iron in their home opener this week. The Legends have had a hard time scoring points ..and their defense has given up 64 points int wo games..
Legends QB,, Matt Simms has been under pressure on 43.5% of dropbacks, by far the highest rate in the league..to go along with 4 interceptions...this kind of pressure has inevitably led to sacks...
A lot of their problems could be contributed to having to deal with coaching changes before even playing their first game ..Brad Childress,abruptly resigned from his post as Atlanta Legends coach last month..
The line... I see today is Iron -7 / 38.5
Although, The Legends played better in their second game battled rain drops losing to the Fleet 24-12..they still are only scoring an avg. of 9 points a game ..and it looks like they will need a little more time to get it things together..
