Benitez, who won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005, has enjoyed an excellent start with his new club.
Napoli, last season's Serie A runners-up, moved to strengthen the squad significantly following the £53million sale of Edinson Cavani to Paris Saint-Germain as Benitez brought in the likes of Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain, Jose Callejon from Real Madrid and former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

Higuain came on after an hour but Hamsik was unused. Both are expected to return to Benitez's starting line-up in north London.
