Today's Games
Los Angeles(-2.5) vs Georgia
Here's a 2-0 L.A. team taking on an 0-2 Georgia, Georgia is winless but thier offense is no joke, QB Chris Griesen leads the league in passing yards and WR Troy Bergeron leads the league in receptions and first downs. L.A. Quarterback Sonny Cumbie leads the league in TD's and has led L.A. to double digit victories in the first two games, Georgia, on the other hand, has lost by double digits in the first two games. Laying two and a half, i give L.A, the nod in this one
PICK - Los Angeles
Cleveland(-2.5) vs Columbus
Another 2-0 vs 0-2 here, Cleveland is the feel good story of the AFL this year with Bernie Kosar taking the sorry ass Las Vegas Gladiators, moving them to Cleveland and giving an exciting new life to the franchise. They're 2-0, but if you look at the two wins, the first was against NY, who lost their starting QB midway through the game, and in the second, they barely edged out Utah, who are now 0-3. Columbus on the other hand is 0-2, losing by 3 to Colorado and losing by 10 to Dallas, one of the league's elite teams. Colorado has historically had trouble on the road and are happy to be playing this game at home. They were in the Arena Bowl last year, this team is better than the way they have been playing, i think the homedog steps up today
PICK - Columbus
Arizona vs San Jose(-15.5)
This game, by far, pisses me off the most out of all the games on the board this weekend. San Jose, the defending Arena Bowl champs, have taken money out of my pocket the last two weeks - getting blown out by Chicago week one and winning, but not covering against Grand Rapids week two. I said to myself i was going to leave San Jose alone this week.......then i saw they were playing Arizona. Last week, Arizona lost thier starting quarterback Lang Campbell midway through the game against L.A. and backup quarterback Jeff Smoker put on the worst performance at the quarterback postiton i have seen since Heath Shuler was behind center. After that game, i said i was going to bet heavy on whoever was playing Arizona next week, so now i find out it's the other pain in my ass - San Jose! So, i sat down to cap this game and if you look at it, I feel San Jose is the bet to make. They are raising the championship banner tonight and they have gotten better each week they have played, Fifteen and a half points is a big line but with Smoker quarterbacking for Arizona, San Jose should cover it.
PICK - San Jose
So there you have it, out of these three picks, there isn't one that really stands out as a big play to me, i would just do small plays on them, maybe a small teaser or parlay - we have better games coming up in the next two days.
Good Luck and enjoy the games
