Just from experience, been gambling on and off for 10 years and just hit rock bottom ! I have heard and seen similar stories and just warning you to gamble responsibly. Never though it would happen to me, but in a blink of a eye , things can go sideways. The stress and anxiety and the work it takes to cap games , is not worth it ignoring time with family and friends. I’m still ok and didn’t get to a point where I have nothing , I just stopped right on time. But hearing stories , seeing people I know , and online stories , some individuals have not just lost money , they lost family, friends, business, homes, and have become homeless. Gambling is an addition and I wish the best for all of you. Officially retiring from the gambling word !
Good Luck
God Bless

You are making a "good choice". So many truly sad stories about sports gambling. One of the coaches I played baseball for in high school kept coaching and teaching while in his early seventies. He also got divorced, and his ex-wife also was still teaching past retirement. Come to find out he had lost all his money betting on sports. Had emptied out his 401k and had no money to retire on. Know another guy who went broke playing online poker. The number one rule in gambling is don't bet what you can't afford to lose. I am not ashamed to say I am a small time bettor, probably one of the smallest that regularly posts on Covers. I cannot imagine the stress and anxiety involved in betting large sums of money. Good luck to you!

Even if you bet with what you can afford to lose, the games have took over of your social life. There are games in every category throughout the day so on some weekends during my addicted days, I would neglected my social life just to chase games all day from morning till night.
It can be unhealthy and when I was able to get out of the house to go places like shopping or friends house party, my mind was still glued to them games as I be seeing it live feed on my phone.
I even gambled on games just for the sake of having action. The martingale system will break you more often than bailing you out. The bets started out small but got larger as you are in the hole.
I still play though but only if I'm in Reno or Vegas. At least I'll lose less than had I was at them slots machines or tables for $100 doesn't even last me 15 minutes. At least with sports, I get to have action for 2 hours worth. How often I'm in Reno or Vegas? Not often enough which then is a good thing. I don't know anyone who gambles and wins overall. Maybe you have a lucky year n that's ok but what about a bad year or a bad run? I only gamble with the money I have and never bet on loan or credit. That is how you'll end up in depressive trouble and believe me, you don't want to be there. It makes you want to lie n cheat n steal or kill yourself. Quit while you are ahead or in this case, down but that is still ahead of hitting the absolute Rock bottom.
