U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin has been hospitalized since the first day of 2024, and while Pentagon officials have not said when he will be released, they continue to avoid saying why he went to the hospital in the first place.

The Ukraine war goes on, Israel's war against Hamas continues, North Korea is firing missiles into South Korea, Desert tribes are closing the Red Sea to shipping and China is moving forces to attack Taiwan. While all this is happening, the second in command of the U.S. military is unavailable and neither the Assistant Secretary of Defense, nor the President is notified for days. So, the defense of our country is put at risk because the Secretary demands "privacy." If he wants privacy, he should simply resign. By the way, 7 days in the ICU means big trouble. Most likely a serious post-op infection.

What’s next ! Was his stool soft ? You MAGA folks need to get a real with reality that your backing a con man! A criminal one at that!

This was my thought as well. I think it is an interesting and thought provocative post and not partisan at all. There is no "sleepy Joe sleep at the wheel..." speak or even blame assigned. It seems as if there are mods that simply see a name and box their threads based on their own partisanship.

The US appears to have been without anyone officially at the desk working as it's official senior top spot defense secretary for several days recently...,,,this is similar to what mom & pop shops do during the holidays - they put up a sign in the window which simply states they will be closed 2 weeks for holidays and look forward to seeing their customers upon their arrival...the one thing here that seems different is the USA mom & pop defense management services didn't even leave a sign in the window...perhaps they didnt turn off the lights, left the oven on and also forgot to lock the front door before leaving on their vacation,,,oh my
