And you went through 20 agonizing years with many great teams, always coming up short, and you finally win you're championship thanks to one of the greatest choke jobs in NCAA Championship history?
I mean hell, I'm sure they're all ecstatic, but doesn't it have to be in the back of everyone's minds how they didn't win the game - it's Memphis that lost the game - and it took an unbelievable amount of luck to even get into OT?
Good for them I guess, but congrats, you finally got your title thanks to another team choking. (BTW, I was not rooting for either team in particular tonight)
Sorta reminds me of the USC/Texas game a couple years back where USC blew that late 12-point lead, you knew they were the team that deserved to win and shoulda been celebrating, but they somehow lost and it just didn't feel right that Texas had won it all...

I'll be genuinely impressed by them holding Memphis to about 8 points the last 7+ minutes of the game and outscoring the Tigers 24-8 down the stretch............
As Second said, mentally tougher...........

Not saying they didn't look great in OT, because they did...but they had no control over Memphis hitting those FT's at the end of regulation.
Like I said, it was Memphis who lost the game - not Kansas who won it.
So if anything Second, KU won because Memphis lacked the mental toughness you talk about. I just can't give too much credit to them here, because Memphis gave them so many opportunities to get back in the game. Even when KU wouldn't capitalize on a trip, Memphis would just miss two more FT's and give them another chance.

I guess kansas didn't make that incredible steal and drain that 3 then. It's ridiculous and absurd not to give the Jayhawks credit here. Just because 1 team goes cold doesn't automatically "give" it to the other team, they still have to take it.

I felt Texas deserved it a few years back and Kansas deserved it yesterday.
Texas had to stop USC on 4th and 1 or it was game over and then Texas had to drive down the field to win it.
Yesterday, Kansas did what you are supposed to do against a shitty foul shooting team. Make them beat you at the line late. It's not Kansas' fault that Memphis doesn't learn free throws like they do. Memphis is too stupid to foul the guy running up court to try to tie it up at the end of regulation too. Kansas earned the win.
Anytime you win in sports, you earned it. You can't only look at the ends of games for reasons why teams lose anyway.

Are you crazy? Kansas has probably been the best team all season long. They had a couple bad losses and everyone forgot about them but this was the team back in November everyone was claiming as the team to beat. And how is it a choke job when a 62% free throw shooting team misses some free throws? Before the tournament started everyone was saying how they had no chance because they can't shoot free throws. Then they shoot good in the tournament and then miss some down the stretch of a game and everyone is shocked that they could miss free throws all of a sudden. People in sports sure do have short memories. Also Kansas had to knock down 2 3's in the last 20 seconds of the game to even force OT so this shit about they were handed the game is just complete bullshit. Memphis just went on a run at around the 5 minute mark to pull ahead the way they did. Other then that the entire rest of the game was back and forth. That is why you don't ever give up in college basketball. You play 40 minutes. Just because you are up with a minute left doesn't mean you automatically win the game. It is not a choke job because they never had the game won in the first place. Being up 7 with 2 minutes left in college basketball is an eternity. I think anyone who knows basketball understands that.

And your argument about luck? If you want to talk about luck how about the banked 3 pointer Rose hit with 1 second left on the shot clock to even pull ahead big like that. Now that shit was luck. Making steals and hitting open 3's is not luck. That is clutch playing.

I graduated from Kansas and was there in 1988.....I've seen plenty of things go against Kansas in the tourney over the last 20 years...bad play, bad luck and even bad FT shooting vs. Syracuse in 2003. Kansas was due a break in March. It requires a little luck to win this tourney and if you win 6 games in March you don't have to feel even a twinge of remorse. It is REALLY FREAKING HARD TO WIN THIS TOURNAMENT! Kansas and the coaching staff made a decision to foul a poor free throw shooting team with over 2 minutes left, they continued this strategy to the end...fouling without letting the shot clock run down. Memphis missed foul shots......Kansas made a lot of their own "luck". A lot of teams panic or quit down 9 with 2 minutes to go. Kansas sucked it up and made plays. They don't have to feel bad or feel remorse in the back of their minds. And they won't.
The team that won deserved to win....period. I'm surprised you are arguing it any other way.
