I would have taken the Vikings tonight.

Instead I did the total. Im telling you, spreads have become completely and totally unpredictable, no matter how good you handicap the game. There are too mamy unforeseen variables in the equation nowadays. Things have changed. Totals are way more predictable.

If you guessed the spread you were lucky. If you didn't guess it you were unlucky.

4-0 This year on posted totals so Im gonna stick with those. Hopefully I can hit 100 in a row and get the whole forum on them and we will bring down the books together. HA

On a serious note though, the purpose of this thread is to try to encourage people to consider doing totals and props as opposed to NFL point spreads because in my opinion they are unbeatable right now.

Just my 2 cents for the evening. 

What makes the league bad is the officiating. I watched that Jets/Bills monday night game and had no money on it. If I am correct on my memory I believe there was over 200 yards in penalties between both teams. The rules to protect QB's, the rules for more points to be scored as they want this to be some college football shootout, and just add the officiating in the mix makes this league unbearable to even care about it.

I have become quite the fan of hoops. Not saying they do not have issues but they can challenge the bullshit.

The officiating is one of many things that has rendered handicapping  spreads virtually obsolete.

So sick of watching the "bail-out" bs calls. Team stopped cold for 3 downs gets some cheap penalty to help them along...

The prime time games are the absolute worst.

 So true I'm 64 years old and have NEVER EVER seen this many flags and the controlled atmosphere that these refs poses and NO doubt in my mind that now more then ever do I believe that though it may not be all especially those of least importance and not major market teams that these games are manipulated as such for the leagues desirable outcome that reflects the positive gains on the ones receiving the money and NOT those playing and placing their money on their desired outcome more often than not.

Its all scripted. NFL product is terrible.  Too many times this has happened.  Refs follow orders and the script was for Rams to win. Simple as that.

Meanwhile the total went over due to a facemask penalty for a safety that wasn’t called, which was a whole helliva lot more lucky than the spread. Do you even believe the shit you say? I actually thought the spread was fair , but if a team is so superior the spread would not be only 3 pts , therefore I had big doubts the vikings could win even if they are a better team.....
