If it wasn't for Kurt Warner, there would never have been A Tom Brady

It was Kurt Warner that came out if nowhere to lead the greatest show on turf in 1999 and possibly one of the greatest teams of all time.  The 99-2000 St Louis Rams.

He was supposed to be the backup to the high priced free agent, Trent Green.  This was a 3-13 team the year before and had gone 0-8 against the division.  This was supposed to be a rebuilding year even with Trent Green who only had shown moderate success with a mediocre Redskins team prior to his coming to St Louis. 

The Rams were actually 200 to 1 odds to win the super bowl.  But with Kurt Warner at the controls and the all important signing of the number 1 draft pick, offensive lineman, Orlando Pace, the greatest show on turf, started 6-0 on their way to a 13-3 finish including turning the tables and sweeping their division 8-0.  There have several worst to first finishes in sports, but never anything like this.

The intangible factor I want you to embrace is that, several years before when Warner was still in college at Northern Iowa, he met Brenda.  She made it clear to him that she had a special needs son and that they were a package deal.  Kurt decided he was all in with both of them and I truly believe God above rewarded him with what ultimately became a hall of fame career.

Correction, they were 4-12 but they sucked with Tony banks at qb.

You're wrong but yes, Warner's story is arguably more amazing that Brady's. I came across that movie of his im my hotel room the other day but was on the way out the door so I only caught 5 minutes of it. We'll look for it on one of the streaming services when I get home.
