Living off the grid?

 I need a break from all the madness and was thinking about going off the gird for awhile. No news, fresh air, refocus. I've been downsizing my use of technology as the days go on. If I'm on the puter for more than an hour I find I'm not being condtructive. I'll get outside and take a walk down to the park.  I need a phone but it also has me with the latest apps at my disposal. I don't know Maybe go camping in the mountains before it become cold. I need to limit my use of technology. I have to rethink again. Any idea's?

Central mountains of Afghanistan are pretty nice this time of year, and you'll have no problem staying off the grid there

 

Yaaaaay I knew I would get a brain dead   response. So typical on this board. It must be a liberal thing.

Its a part of our fabric now. Everywhere you go people are staring into their phone like its an Oracle of some sort. Its quite disgusting. I too wish to "get off the grid." I don't have a smartphone or Facebook. I don't watch tv but do play around on my iPad or computer.

You need to see the night sky ablaze with stars and that tells you you are not in the city anymore..Gotta be some remote-behind places in the States still left to do this?

Camping sounds awesome with some supplies,fishing gear frying pan first aid kit just incase...
