Democratic mayors call for de-funding police, but also democratic mayors ask for more help with their private security. Talk about being a hypocrite just to get votes. Dem mayors don't care about the people, they care about their votes and will use tax payers money for their own gains. Pushing to de-fund police while at the same time spending tax payers money to beef up their own security is the definition of being a hypocrite. Why would anyone believe what democratic mayors have to say?!
No police to help protect the public, but more police to help protect thee please.

Defunding the police doesn't necessarily mean cutbacks in police budgets. Defunding is an option to spend more on community services to deal with poverty, housing and mental illness. In some situations, sending social workers instead of police officers may be more appropriate in some situations.

Cities across the country are paying for their knee-jerk defund the police/hate the police movement. In New York City mayoral candidates are distancing themselves from this stupid-azz narrative. Yet some are still in denial like Minneapolis and Seattle. De Blasio is increasing New York Cities police budget!!
The direct result of this left accepted movement and appointing hard-left prosecutors is higher violent crime and more criminals on the streets. People who pay the most taxes in these locations are moving to red states in droves leaving these cities spiraling down a hell hole!
Couple that with the southern border basically wide open with people from all over the world traveling to Mexico to cross into the U.S. including gang members from several countries including Cuba, Haiti, South Africa, South America. Cubans crossing the border are automatically allowed in. By boat, they can't.

For every "democratic shithole" that internet forum guys point to in reference to "defunding the police", I challenge you to google the the police budgets for the upcoming fiscal years. Then come back and talk about who's defunding the police.
TIME TO BRING BACK THE OBAMA CAGES!

Fiscal year in 2021 in NY the budget was decreased
You know what also decreased in NY? Crime. Sike. De-funding police had a direct result of higher crime. So the city was forced to raise the budget for 2022.
You know what else grew higher in NY? The population and the rich. Sike. More wealthy New York residents fled taking their tax payments with em. Want to know a key reason why people fled NY? Drastically increasing crime.
I'm probably going to guess it's the same for CA as well.

Democratic mayors cut police budgets but then most likely spent record amounts last year to protect themselves. They allowed crime to sky rocket in their cities by de-funding but yet they likely spend record amounts protecting themselves. They spent your money to take away your protection while giving themselves more protection.
1: a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2: a person who acts in contradiction

Washington D.C. police chief Robert Contee said today;
"I'm going to give it to you straight … The justice system that we have right now, it is not functioning the way that it should. The courts are not open. That is a fact. Barely open," he said. "So cases from last year that happened during COVID of violent criminals that have not been disposed of, where do you think those individuals are? They're in community."
Contee said D.C. was victimized by a "vicious cycle" of repeat offenders getting arrested and then turned around to the street less than a month later, predicting the perpetrators of Thursday's shooting would be familiar to the D.C. police department when they arrested them.
"We want to help people, but you cannot coddle violent criminals," he said. "You cannot. You cannot treat violent criminals who are out here making communities unsafe for you, your loved ones … They might not want a job. They might not need services. What they may require is to be off of our streets because they're making it unsafe for us … If not, then we see more of this."
Addressing a crowd on a D.C. street corner near Thursday's incident, Contee said it was up to the Washington community to decide what was acceptable in their city.
"I'm mad as hell about this, and I hope ya'll are too," he said. "I like coming to 14th Street … I don't want to be afraid for my wife to go there because some knucklehead in community decided to pull out a gun and fire it at 8:20 in the evening. That is unacceptable."

Seattle is.......by 18%......for now. The CC is trying to reduce it even more because they overspent their budget last year......mostly because of OT costs due to riot control.

Geezus you are clueless. Why don't you tell us how that "send a social worker" thing would play out. Let me try first. Sir, yes sir, you with the gun. Would you please lower your weapon and we can talk about how you were abused as a child. I'll give you a free appointment , you can stop by my office at the SS building on main st thursday! Oh, wait, hoe about friday! Is that about right? You obviously are for defund the police. No gray area, you are part of the problem.

Read your first sentence again. That's exactly what it means. Moving money out of the police budget elsewhere. Geezus, unbelievable idiocy.

When Barack Obama aired some criticism of calls to defund the police, Ilhan Omar (D-MN) defended the movement saying "it's not a slogan but a policy demand," adding "centering the demand for equitable investments and budgets for communities across the country gets us progress and safety." Not enough progress and safety, apparently, as Omar spent more than $6,000 on security. Her campaign expenditures are meager compared to her other squad colleagues, but still more than most families in her Minneapolis congressional district could afford to keep themselves safe amid rising violence.
Maybe this IS a little clearer.

Another advocate for defunding police — Rep. Jamaal Bowman, a Democratic Socialist from New York — saw his campaign spend more than $7,800 on security services so far this year. Perhaps even more shamelessly, Bowman directly requested police protection for his private residence from the Yonkers Police Department. Bowman is on the record saying America's system of policing is "cruel and inhumane" and "can't be reformed," saying the solution is to "defund the system that's terrorizing our communities." If he really meant that, it's hard to believe he'd request more police for his own neighborhood to watch over his family.
Maybe it is MORE than a 'talking point'.
