    The GOP raised my taxes and tells me I should vote for them?

    The Great Trump Tax Scam of 2017 decreased the SALT tax deduction to a cap of $10k and also eliminated certain housing tax breaks. Why? Well if they didn’t do that, then red staters in Arizona and Oklahoma and Alabama wouldn’t see any tax cut from the Trump/Chimp/Dotard tax bill.
    Well that in turn hiked my fed taxes by at least $15k-$20k a year.

    My personal friends who are Republicans won’t tell me how much their taxes went up (it appears to be out of embarassment), but when I bring this up in online forums the answer is sadly, and stupidly, very predictable:

    - I must have miscalculated (no, I didn’t, I got second and third opinions from three accountants, all of whom said Trump screwed dual-income families who bought houses. At least 1/3 of the accountants voted for Trump)

    - to suck it up, because now “I’m paying my fair share,” despite the whole reason one votes GOP is for the tax breaks.

    So if I’m being told to pound sand over what is clearly the biggest tax hike of anyone’s lifetime, and I’m a centrist, why would I ever ever ever vote Republican again?

    I would quite literally buy someone a $60,000 boat if they could retroactively undo the great Trump tax scam of 2017, and I would still finish ahead.

    This is why I am in total disbelief that anyone from any blue state would ever vote for Trump, unless they just hate money. That being said, there are still morons down the block happily paying far higher taxes thanks to Trump, yet whining about Biden lol.

    Did Biden bankrupt 10,000 farmers and put them on the $28 trillion government dole? No, it was Trump who did that. Straight communism/socialism from the far Dotard right.

    Also don’t ignore all the right-leaning economists who disdained Trump’s idiotic tariff policies for causing inflation, which we are currently suffering from now. BTW, screw Biden for not eliminating those stupid, stupid tariffs the second he got into office.

    Morons have stolen the definition of communism and changed it to “anything that Trump didn’t do” lol. Please explain to me why I should vote for a Dotard who gave me the biggest tax hike of a lifetime, hiked inflation, botched a pandemic, and now is trying to tell me my vote doesn’t count?

    I would literally vote for a stuffed animal before voting for Trump, it would do me less economic harm and also have fewer sexual assault allegations. It would also be less hypocritical and more intelligent.

    Sadly? Yeah you, Detox and Slim are just the gems AZ needs? an_roll_laugh

    Good to see Arizona transitioning to the 21st century and leaving clowns like you behind.

    As long as you and your idiotic AZ GOP keeps nominating candidates like Blake Masters and Kari Lake, AZ will remain blue. an_light

    The Trump Tax Cut Bill,The greatest legislation of this Century, doubled the standard deduction and reduced the SALT deduction so that High Taxing states would not have the advantage of double-dipping.

    In the end, 95% of individual tax payers had a Reduction of payment.

    2017; DEMOCRAT PROGRESSIVE Chokwe Antar Lumumba becomes mayor of Jackson. He promises to make Jackson the most radical city in the country!

    March 2021;

    On a chilly Friday morning in March, a couple of days after a winter storm swept through the city, Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba strode into a parking lot behind city hall, fist-bumped assembled members of the fire department and made his way to a clear podium set in front of four red firetrucks. The weather felt more like London than Mississippi, and Lumumba dressed the part: skinny navy pants, brown houndstooth jacket and matching vest, with beige monk-strap shoes.

    It had been a rough several weeks for the city. The previous month, a different, more disastrous winter storm had hit Jackson, leaving many of the city’s nearly 170,000 residents stranded without water for weeks. Thousands of residents lost power, too. It took more than four weeks for the city to lift the boil water advisory for all residents. This morning, however, Lumumba had a more pleasant task: “christening” the city’s new firetrucks, which he called symbols that “represent the protection of life and property.”

    After a short prayer from a local pastor, the city fire chief picked up a dusty red hose that snaked from a water truck in the back of the parking lot, aimed it squarely at the shiny red fire engines, readied himself for a gush of water, and then, well, nothing. The water didn’t come out.

    NOW THEIR WATER PLANT HAS TOTALLY FAILED!

    Gotta be climate change. an_wink

    @Sidehatch

    You put an awful lot of effort, not to mention an absurd amount of words, into trying to convince total strangers on a gambling forum that the GOP raised your taxes.

    My experience was that while Trump was in office I paid less in taxes. Significantly less.

    See how it is done, Hatch?

    Funny you didnt include California.

    a whole different issue here. Not a failure to maintain and operate a treatment plant, rather a head in the sand approach by all states involved with Colorado River.

    -------OVER POPULATION AND UNCHECKED IMMIGRATION ALONG WITH A PISS POOR COLORADO RIVER WATER DISTRIBUTION PLAN. ---------

    "Urban development is exploding throughout the compact region, driving the already insupportable demand for water even higher. "

    "The annual demand for and “legal” claim to Colorado River water is 1.4 trillion gallons more than actually exists. That amounts to 4,308,000 acre feet, or enough water to supply more than 20 million people."

    "Of all the compact states, California holds senior water rights. It is thus entitled to one-third the flow of the river, meaning it can continue to draw water from the Colorado even if Lake Mead reaches dead pool."

    DeezyAZ81 is right.  Water crisis in several states are usually problems decades in the making. Blame inadequate tax revenue for repair and maintenance of infrastructure.  With failing water systems, cities become more vulnerable to extreme weather.

    Nope, both parties work in unison. All the stuff you mentioned is purely distraction. Never actually happened.

    It's govt vs the people. Picking a party side is a waste of time. It's not freedom. It's doing exactly what they want
