There was a lawsuit filed against an apartment complex landlord where I'm currently living in. I've been living in this apartment for three years with three other roommates, we all moved in same time. What I understood from the lawsuit they charged us 300+ more than what they should have each month. Anyways the plaintiffs won the case and the landlord has to pay 4 million dollars to former and current tenants. Two of my roommates and I received a check for $386 each, and the third roommate got a check for $7000. We were all surprised as to why his was so much more. We all moved in the same date and we all the divide the rent equally. I just want opinion on why this might have happened. Should I do anything about this? If they charged us 300+ each month we should be getting more than $386 for the three years. I want to call and ask the administrator but if it was a mistake they sent him $7000 I don't want to be the reason he has to return the money.
Sorry if I you, my English is not very good
