He's a very good coach but made a very bad mistake today that I'm sure won't be mentioned by many.
With a minute and some change left in the 1st half Pit was up 13-0 with a 4th and 3 in Cin territory. Faced with about a 53 yd fg. The correct choice would've been to punt and go into halftime up 13-0 getting the ball after half. 2nd choice would've been to kick a fg. No. He went for it and didn't make it. Cin comes down and kicks a fg to cut the lead to 10 and gets some confidence. They come out and outplay Pit in the 2nd half.
It was a bad call because even if they make it they still have 30 yds to go in less than a minute. They dominated the 1st half and those 3 pts proved the difference. Not 2nd guessing because I thought it was dumb before they didn't get it. I'm not a genius. Just saying that it was one of the rare times Tomlin has made a horrible decision. And I would be surprised if any of the media bring up this play.
