Greenland is just a dependent, granted. Our GDP is probably 50 times you guys'. We spend ridiculously as is. We can take on a dependent. As trade is increasing routed through the North Sea/Norwegian Sea/North Atlantic,  partially spurred by the economic growth of the Scandinavian countries, Greenland is poised to become strategically valuable to the U.S. As the region's seas are less and less inundated with ice, those trade routes will only sea further growth. In a perfect world, Greenland isn't acquired by hostile means. It would be nice if it could stand as a covenant between our two countries. Trade between the U.S and and the Scandinavian countries, medical tech, pharmaceuticals, Norwegian oil, etc, is unlikely to decrease. The U.S. finds itself in a situation where we will be in the market for new friends. The acquisition of Greenland would hopefully be mutually beneficial.

The Panama canal is the Panama canal. It is not just a waterway. If we don't seize control, China will. This also relates back to the possibility of increased shipping via the North Atlantic.

Gaza, sadly, wouldn't be for us. We would seize it and turn it over to Israel, albeit with a sizeable, permanent U.S. miltary presence. I'm not a fan of Israel so I won't go further into this.
