Some of you here have. I personally only sit at small cash games on weekends and don't really have any ambition to play at the higher limit tables. Why you may ask? It ain't really money.
I budget roughly 20 dimes a year for wagerin. May be small by some of the standards I've seen here..but why risk tons when I got a wife and kids to look out for?
Have a regular job that's a very good living and so for me, I look at gambling(sports) and cards(entertainment) as opporunities for quenching my competitive spirit and cashing several nice cheques a year.
So here I am, bored and playin online for kicks only to get busted by morons who call plays with K8 off preflop only to turn and river KK to kill my hands...it reminds me that online poker is so unsatisfying cuz I cant really get in the heads of anyone at the table...part of my game, but only with those who let me of course...they're normally easy to spot.
I figure the pros also make a living doing this...course I wouldnt know other than what I've seen on TV. I know there's another thread that talks of Scotty's antics at the table...we've all seen Raimer's googly glasses...joe's Aussi cheers....Daniels blind reads and giggles...
How many of you have played with recognized pros and out of curiosity, are they as good as they look? Or are we only seeing a segment of their success and none of their failures?
I know that their have been writeups on some compulsive gamblers that happen to be good poker players who cant hold a roll cuz they blow it on sports...
I'm just curious what kind a game it takes to sit at their table.
Anyone with any experiences to share, I appreciate you sharing if you have the time or inclination.
Its a slow night...Clinton just endorsed Obama...and all I can think about was what an amazing Betty Crocker talker he is. Great Commander in Chief of the USA...course that's just a Canuck's opinion.
Take it eas fellas,
MG
