Pretty crazy hand recently. Not too big of a deal, but fun nonetheles.
About a month ago Im playing 2/5 NL at the Borgata. Bought in for $500, about two hours in pretty much stagnant. Sitting at about $450. Havent really played a hand for an hour at this point, getting a little frustrated, definitely could use a hand. Then this hand comes up.
First person in pot raises to $20. Four calls by the time it gets around to me in SB w/ K10 hearts. Of course I call. BB calls.
Flop comes down AQJ, AQ of clubs. So i've flopped the nuts. Whats up. Of course being first to act I check. BB check. Initial raiser checks. Next player bets $50 into about $120 pot. Next guy folds. Next guy pops it from $50 to $150. Im fucking licking my lips, happy as a clam. Realizing that someone in hand prob. has a big club draw, and someone prob. has 2per, I realize my hands vulnerable. No way I wanna smooth call, and have a club hit on turn. So i just go all in, push for about $400 or so on top of his $150. Figure if I dont get a call no big deal, but my read on this player is that the reraiser will call me (big action player.) To my suprise, the BB who had initially checked, calls my $450????? Ok, what can he have? Get to the original raiser, whos my friend. He calls!!!!!!!. Gets to the original bettor on flop, he pushes all in for $350!!!!!!. Now to origianl reraiser, he's all in for $1000!!!!!. Im already all in, the BB goes all in for about $400, as he's already called my $450. Back to my friend, he has everyone as table covered w/ about 2gs, and he calls all the all ins!!!!!!!!
So on the flop it went check, check, bet, fold, raise, reraise, smooth call, smooth call, reraise, call/reraise, smooth call. I mean a lot of action. I double check, yup still sitting on nuts. Figure by now, someone has to have k10 as well, and im in for a chop at best. Just praying noone has k10 of clubs, and im basically drawing dead. It takes the dealer a solid ten minutes to work out all of the side pots and stuff. Im figuring im up against a club draw, a set, two pair, and possibly another broadway. Finally, pots all worked out, showdown time. I just stand up, flip up my hand, say "Nuts hold up one time". BB flips over JJ, so trip jacks. My friend flips over K6 clubs, so nut flush draw, and broadway draw to split. Next douche bag turns over 82 clubs, drawing dead, thanks for playing. Next douche bag, who was the last person to go all in, turns over aj!!!!!, two pair!?!?!?!!!!. So my hand is good, gotta dodge 6 clubs, board paring etc.
Im pretty pumped up, b/c a lot of people around watching now at this point. Turn, 5s, river 6 hearts. I mean I lose that hand evertime, but it holds up this time. Do a little dance, rake a $2000 pot, life was good. It was pretty crazy sitting there w/ the stone nuts, and just watching all this action. Other than the vague feeling of a possible chop, that was about as much fun as I've ever had at a table.
