was there yesterday, sunday and whole casino was busy. blew my nuts on roulette when i first got there so i only had 400 to sit in a cash game so i play 2/5 NL
nice open room, lots of tv's but the drink service was real slow for a weekend. i was in the poker room for not quite 2.5 hours and only 3 drinks came my way. one waitress i stopped told me i had to wait, it wasn't here AREA. i don't get drunk when playing poker, but the drinks are like a dixie cup so really a vodka tonic is 80% tonic anyway
drink service C minus
rules of the poker room posed in clear view F
i sit down and not realize that there is no rake on every pot, but a $ 6 fee every half hour. breakdown this is great and really bad at the same time. i've never played in this type of play before, its great if you go on a rush and pull down 5 or 6 pots and hour cause the casino will only get $ 12 of your winning, no rake....the bad part is when you play for 3 hours and are not catching any cards to save your life. not only do you not win a pot, but you still have to pay a $ 12rake per hour out of your chips.
i had no idea and no one told me till time came around, i couldn't believe it. great when your winning but sucks ass when you donating and everyone has cold streaks were there are no cards.
staff service(boss and dealers) B minus
had a few dealers, some rude, some new and nervous. i had to tell him an amount of a raise like he forgot how to add and another was a fast dealer and there were 3 misdeals in one half hour.
OVERALL, trip was worth it, but with atlantic city an hour longer away travel time for me, i'd rather go to the boardwalk and ocean and some getto casinos than foxwoods. if it wasn't for the WPT tourneys there i don't think i'd ever go back

i live about an hour from the woods, its more of a place to go if you are a serious player with a serious bankroll, that or if you like playing limit
everyone on the 1/2 or 2/4 NL tables treat it like it is the freeken final table of the WSOP
even the table games are very expensive to play on, most weekends you can't find anything between BJ, craps, three card, let it ride for less than $15 a hand
but like i said, depends on your roll, but if you want a variety of casinos, poker tourneys and structures, definitely take the drive out to atlantic city

i made my first final table at Foxwoods years ago when they still had the New England Poker Classic....i remember it was a $220 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournament and i had some old timer telling me how Texas Hold'em would never be the biggest game on the east coast and how 7 card stud will always be more popular in A.C. and Conn.
i guess he was wrong
alot of great times at Foxwoods i miss it....i have not been back since 2005
