Doing it this friday nite. should be fun. have hosted a plethora of 10-15 person tourneys but nothing of this size.
Anyone throw something of this size before?
What were the problems that arose?
I am considering not playing at all and just overseeing it and taking a small rake. There is a lot of dead money coming though and would love to take a shot at winning the big bag of marbles.

Just make sure you have everyone agree on the proper rules and etiquette, no exceptions. Make sure your dealers are well aware of this and are willing to enforce them, no exceptions. This will eliminate tons of potential problems. TDA rules or Roberts Rules.
Good Luck.

playing is suicide. take 10% and start a cash game for players who exit early. when things quiet down get in the cash game to pick up soft cash. a 60 per. affair neads a tour. dir. gl

Yea, let us know how you handled it and how it turns out...I agree that for a tournament that size you definitely need a TD that is not playing at the time, whether that be you or someone else.
GL if you are playing

Glad it went well. I take it this type of thing is legal in Utah? It is in Wyoming. Poker is considered a game of skill, not chance according to the state law books. No poker parlors allowed, but games of any amount are legal in bars.
