I just sat NL $2 4, higher stakes than I normally play for cash games. first hand I pay the big blind out of position and I'm delt Q 10 offsuit.. one guy makes it 20 and 3 people call him, bringing the pot to nearly $90. I then folded my Q 10, instead of paying $16 more. the flop came 9 J K. one guy had K 9 and another had KK. the didn't hit boats as the hand played out. I would have won a pot of nearly $700. You can bring 200 to the table max. This is a sickening feeling because I think the odds were there for me to call.

16 more for 90 is about 6:1 odds, I always call with 5:1 or better regardless of my hand, tough to watch I know....2/4 is my game though nothing better for online cash games.

If you flop a pair of queens or a pair of tens, or even a two pair, you wouldn't be in a dangerous position with that kind of action pre flop. If I had called I would be pretty much looking for a straight draw. If I had called and it came queen high flop I would have been up against those pocket kings. I'm thinking about your 5-1 or better rule.. with Q 10 definitely... with rags I still might fold getting 5-1... you really like cash games? I swore them off tonight. I also bluffed all in at a pot and was called by ace high, like they can see my cards. This was on bookmaker poker.. not so sure their poker is legit after this 2/4 session.

Ya I like cash games, you just have to manage your bankroll right to get up in them, I never buy in 100BB in 2/4 usually 2/4 and try to pick good spots, you would be surprised how easy it is to double up off someone with $1,000 hitting flushes, two pair, sets....I also play the SNG 55+5 and 33+3 easiest ones to take down on FTP IMO.

this is actually an interesting situation, which is rare for this part of the forum from what i have seen. 200 really isnt a lot of money for a 2 4 cash game, most allow 4 or 5 hundred. if you have 4 or 5 behind you i think this is an easy call, you just have to know how to play top pair if you do hit it. however you only have 200 which makes it a little dicey to have 10% of your money out there with a hand where top pair very well could not be any good, with only 200 i think i would have folded as well.
