I have Ace hi flush lose to straight flush twice in 1 day

went sunday to play 4-8 at the bellagio
 
won about 300 but shouldve been more
early in the day AK of spades  turn a flush ..river is another spade so im thinking shit this killed my action . i bet a guy raises ..im thinking this guy has to know i wouldnt bet without the ace i jst call and he has 7,9  ...10,j and the river 8 of spades give him the strt flush
 
 
then later in the day im up about 375 ..i raise with A9h   flop is 2h,4h 9clubs..wow good flop !!!  turn is 5h  i bet its raised i reraise i get reraised..i have a bad feeling i call...check , call ...f'n woman turns over 3,6 of hearts
 
looked at a few more hands and decided it was time to head home

Sick. Thank fuck it was only limit. What time rake do you pay at 4/8?

This happened live, but if it had been online there would be people lining up saying how online is rigged.  Take your bad beats in stride and you will prosper in the long run.  Those who let bad beats linger never seem to do well cause they always resort back to those bad beats when they play.

that's fucked up when you lose to a "gutshot" straight flush draw, usually you don't worry about the straight flush, but I've seen people chase them and catch them on the river, but it is a 2% chance for 1 to catch the 1 card, how often do people chase them and you don't know? Usually you throw these hands away on the flop, but you need donators like this in the game.

Is that how you play your winning poker? You fold your straight flush draws on the flop?

colonel...i like to go there because there is always a game going on . so if i want to go play ill show up there
 
 
as for the rake, at the bellagio its 1/10  1/30/1/50 1/90  so only 4 bucks on a 90 pot which is pretty good

Sorry, didn't mean that I would fold a straight flush draw on the flop, but I am talking about backdoor draws on the flop, where guys really have nothing and really can't call the flop but they do and then they catch something on the river, the chances of hitting a hand runner-runner are about 5%. But if you have a gutshot straight flush draw on the flop are you gonna risk all of your chips?

it depends on the situation, but considering its in a limit game i dont think that one would ever be put to that test and not have MORE than the right odds to call
