Question on deals made at final tables...

Question

I have played in several casino run sit n' go's and have won and come in 2nd. Every time we made a deal. Some hosts paid us acco paid us according to the deal while others wanted a winner.

My question is, at something like the WPT or WSOP, when players make deals and then go on to win televised events (where there is an actual 1st place winner), does the tournament honor the deal? Would they even be aware of such a deal?

I don't think it's in the WSOP Main Event best interest to allow a 10 way chop and have it hit the blogs the next day resulting in a fake 'champion'.

So if the tournaments, where hundreds of thousands, or even millions need to divided up among dealmakers, does it end up being the players or the casino's responsibility?

I sure as hell wouldn't want to trust another person to give me 50K of a 300K chop if the casino ended up giving him 200K of the 300K when he took 1st after we played it out for standings/TV.

Anyone have any knowledge about this?

I have read on some other poker forums that harrah&#x27;s will not honor deals so it is up to the players to handle it themselves. like you said, it is in their best interests to play everything out and crown a winner so while I am sure they know it goes on, but they would never admit it.

I had a buddy that played on the European EPT and he made the final table twice, both deals were made by the last 3 players. He said it's pretty common practice on this particulat tour curcuit.

Can't comment on the others, but wouldn't be surprised.

I don't understand were collusion plays in if the deal is made prior to any cards being dealt befofre the final table of final X amount of players. I would call in more of an 'understanding/deal' amongest the remaining players.

On a side note I've played in several sit n go's at casinos in Vegas and all but one we made a 'deal' these sit n gos aren't worth millions of dollars and usually take about 5 minutes of discussion... and all the players are content.

I'm kind of surprised some casinos won't honor it becuase one would think the fastest the sit and go's finish the quicker they can switch them over to cash tables.

the Venetian Deepstack honours the deals all the time. Part of making the deal is also declaring rank order other times they will leave a few thousand to play for.

So if 3 people are left 10k pool we can agree to chop 3k each and the actually winner gets the last 1k.

def not public knowledge but backroom deals happen from time to time, small events are ok to chop (300-500$ buy in)

most bracelet events never chop and players are ok w. busting out bcuz the $ is enough for a year or two salary. i mean 200k for third is cool right?

main event collusion is always poss since it takes place a few months later ( final 9)
