Shawn "Sheiky" Sheikhan Faces Deportation

Professional poker player Shahram "Shawn" Sheikhan is facing possible deportation over a 1995 conviction on charges of sexual battery and annoyance or molestation of a child.

Sheikhan, a Las Vegas resident, was reportedly held in his home by immigration officials, and then held for more than a week at the North Las Vegas Detention Center.

Sheikhan is an Iranian transplant in the US; he came when he was 9 years old.

A spokesman for Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, Virginia Kice, commented on the case. "This individual was targeted for ICE arrest because of his criminal history. ICE has an ongoing initiative called Operation Predator targeting individuals, including foreign nationals, who prey upon and sexually exploit children."

Sheikhan had no comment, but is obviously fighting the deportation charges.

Shawn spent 9 months in jail and five years on probation for his 1995 conviction. Court documents indicate that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security believes Sheikhan is "subject to removal from the United States" in part based on a section of the Immigration and Nationality Act that allows deportation for conviction "of two crimes involving moral turpitude not arising out of a single scheme of criminal misconduct."

DEPORT the nitwit 

He came to this country when he was a little kid. He's lived his whole life here and has a wife and kid....he's served his sentence for these crimes and to deport somebody over a decade after the fact is ridiculous. What happens to his family, do they go with him? Where does he go? This is total BS from ICE. It seems to me like he probably pissed the wrong person off and they are going to make his life difficult.

Would you feel the same way if this was your daughter? These crimes are disgusting and should not be tolerated considering the illegal (whoever it may be, Sheik in this instance) wasnt supposed to be living in this country in the first place.

He was not "targeted", it's happened to be many other illegals as well.  Should he be alowed to live in this country illegally, running around touching little girls? He owes us, we don't owe him shit.

I can  not stand him as a poker player anymore then the next guy. If he did the things that are described on this thread it would be a matter of public record. ALL OF THE FACTS. Meaning a criminal indictment number a docket number for the case etc etc. Why not locate these items, it should not be difficult his name is not john smith or joe miller and post all the facts.  Then you may have a real snowball effect.  If this is true they should blackball him,  and he is garbage, if it is not then this thread is a disgrace.
