Was watching some poker on tv. It was a cash game, 3 people in the hand. Don't remember all of the particulars but you'll get the gist of it. Matusow was in the hand (go figure), another pro, and an amateur.
All 3 see the flop and turn and then it gets fishy in my opinion. Matusow checks, amateur bets out (I cant remember, but I think he had nothing, just trying to take the pot down). Other pro raises and Matusow goes all-in. Amateur then decides to fold and other pro calls Matusows all-in. Unamed Pro has Matusow covered (not by much) and tells Matusow if he would agree to pull 25,000 out of the pot he will do the same and the loser will still have money to play with. And they do it. If I was that amateur I would be pissed.
Doesn't that move shatter the whole integrity of the game. Anyways, wanted to see what everybody thought.

I do not like it. I thought once a bet was made that was it. I don't see how you can take money out of the pot once the bet was made. I have never seen anything like that happen and would not want to be playing in a game like that.

This seems a little more than shady. Was this High Stakes on GSN?? I hope not. That is the best poker on tv, bar none.
As long as everyone was aware of the possibility to do that going into the action I don't have a problem. But elsewise, that's cash out your chips and go home kinda shit. Really lame.
With Matusow being the degenerate for action like he is suprised he took the offer.
