In the game of No-Limit Texas Holdem,
when there are three players left and each flips over their cards is it the
best 5 card hand that wins? Or would the following be a split pot?
(Nobody made a flush, so the suits don't matter)
Community Cards areJ / 10 / 7 / 5 / 3
Player 1Holds K/45 Card Hand isK/J/10/7/5
Player 2 Holds K/45 Card Hand isK/J/10/7/5
Player 3 Holds K/85 Card Hand isK/J/10/8/7
Is this a split pot or would Player 3
win?

Based on
the information you have provided, Player 3 wins as his kicker 8 is higher than
the others.
RESPONSE FROM POKERSTARS.COM
The rule is
"the best five cards combination wins", in this case, Player 3 would
win because no one has a game.
So it would go to the kicker, where 8 is the biggest kicker after the K, J, 10
everyone holds.
RESPONSE FROM FULLTILTPOKER.COM
In Holdem,
it is indeed the best 5 cards that make up the final hand. In the example
you have provided, player 3 would win the entire pot. His 8 'plays' as
his kicker, while the 4's of player 1 and player 2 do not 'play'.
