First and foremost this is a gambling site, so hats off to those who took Trump early, late and anywhere in between at some nice +$$$.

Secondly.... to those like Killer_B and the other 'anyone but her' people, you are off the hook for the next 4 years.   I get it.  I understand where you were coming from.   I don't blame you for whatever happens in the future....  it is not your doing.   There will be plenty 'anyone but him' voters in 2020

Third....   To the people who voted for Trump out of protest, from mob mentality, to think they were changing things, etc...    You reap what you sow.   You will be held accountable for the future.   You wanted change.  You wanted to press 'reset'.   When you press 'reset', everything before is lost.   If you were a loser under the past regimes, you will still be a loser in the future.  


Lastly...   I refuse to sit on here and whine and cry about what happened in this election going forward.  Donald Trump is going to be my President for the next 4 years.  I hope he succeeds.  Truly do....  we need him to succeed.    I will bump this thread occasionally when I find something humorous that comes from this next regime.  But when the buyers remorse sets in and the regret starts, I will be ready to say "Don't blame me, I voted for HRC".

PS...  SportsFan, I know you're out there...  Congrats on the call, you were right.   Unfortunately, you could not control your emotions and they got the best of you.  Hopefully your choice of President has better self control than you did.

Remember though going with your third point, there were many who used the same mentality that voted for her. A protest vote against Trump and it's no different. It is not the way to vote. Vote for what you believe in. I don't agree calling those who voted for whatever their reason was though, losers. 

I totally agree with hoping he succeeds. It's time to move and hope for the best. It's not just POTUS that can be the problem, but the whole corrupt system. I know I for one have not been remotely pleased with the current administration. But, it was what we had and that is fine.

I should have specified that point about the 'losers' comment...  That is geared towards the people who believe that their shortcomings in life are the direct result of the man in the White House and not their own laziness, inabilities and sense of entitlement.

DJT will succeed. .he is from the private sector and that will greatly help this country, finally.

Trump will try to bring about change, but Obama fuckked things up so badly in this country it will be difficult and a tall task. You can't blame Trump for all shortcomings as he inherited an absolute disaster

in that meeting yesterday, trump must have found out what obamacare actually is for the first time and he realizes some of it isn't so bad.

A vast majority of Republicans have repeatedly said over the last 8 years that they fully support the pre-existing condition aspect as well as allowing parents to keep their kids on their plans till they are 26 . Important details like this get drowned out because of the awful extreme discourse that is commonplace now.

that makes sense.  all we ever hear is how they are going to repeal and replace it. replace it with what, who knows.   i guess we'll see what he does.

If you leave in pre-existing condition aspect, you gotta have a Mandate.....

It's impossible to have one without the other..
Or A lot of people would just wait until they got sick to get insurance.
Like buying flood ins once you have two inches of water in your bedroom....

So no insurance company will allow it.....Without a Mandate 

Lifetime caps would not be possible without a mandate,
Ins company need to be able to take cancer clients and toss them to the state, once they reached their lifetime cap..

So basicly we the taxpayers are footing the bill, and the Ins companys clean up...

i don't know what all of those words are you are using but apparently trump talked about it for his 60 minutes interview this week.  he's going to replace it with great, cheap healthcare.  no need for details or to know what obamacare actually is, he's good at this stuff.

He's going to keep the preexisting condition requirement, the 26 year old piece, and replace it with cheaper and better healthcare.

No details just yet  but I, for one, am optimistic.

Clearly the Dems goal was more expensive and worse healthcare, because that would certainly ensure they would be continually elected so I look forward to the Republican rule.

Obama had this type of honey moon moment he won in 2008 and democrats controlled congress. He immediately snubbed the minority leaders then Bainner and McConnell and lost the house in 2010 then the senate 2014.
now republicans are up hold both houses and the presidency if Trump can avoid the traps Obama fell for he can have a productive time setting policy in America if he totally botches the deal I am sure Democrats have already started looking for their ideal 2020 candidate to face him. and the fund raising machines dccc and dscc are beginning to refill the coffers to target strategic races in the house and senate.

Well, especially if you don't have a mandate because the insurance companies won't have a chance to recoup monies they will payout on the conditions.

I suppose one possibility will be that insurance companies cannot deny coverage for a preexisting condition but they can charge whatever they want.

maybe that's fine if my preexisting condition is a sore back and i like to go to the chiropractor every now and then but what do poor and middle class people do with expensive preexisting conditions.  effectively, how would that be any different than when they could be denied?

universal government health insurance as is done in Vermont.
completely puts health insurance in the non profit column without taking profit any profit margin insurance will diminish. if a basic plan is offered to all, allowing more complete coverage to be an add on through private insurers, we could achieve the goal of all americans are insured.
of course the insurance lobbiests will have complete conniption of this so it will be entertaining how the "replace" concept is achieved....
