Wyoming has become the first state to codify a requirement for proof of US citizenship and 30-day state residency in order to vote in any election.
... As for proof of citizenship, the law specifies nine different options including a birth certificate, a valid United States passport and a Wyoming driver’s license.
The bill takes effect in July of this year.
President Trump did pivotal work to have proof of citizenship for registering to vote with the SAVE Act at the federal level. About 22 states must pass a law or amend their Constitution to explicitly protect voting rights for citizens only....with Pres.Trump pushing it we will see other states getting on board..
12 states have statutory or Constitutional language allowing only citizens therefore banning non-citizens to vote in state and local elections....
