Can anyone explain to me why we let these people in when we can’t even care for poor veterans and children born here?
Should we improve our schools that are in disrepair or should we bring in and care for Afghan men?

Does anyone know how many tax dollars are being spent on the 110,000 Afghans?
Do they speak English?
What the hell are we going to do with a 35 year old male, from Afghanistan, with no education?
1. He probably hates the US (and possibly rightfully so)
2. We have to house, feed, and care for him medically
3. We have to teach him English
4. We have to teach him basic life skills
5. We have to teach him a skill that he can use to make money

During the Afghan Civil War (1996–2001), bacha bazi carried the death penalty under Taliban law. Under the post-Taliban government, the practice of dancing boys was illegal under Afghan law, but the laws were seldom enforced against powerful offenders and police had reportedly been complicit in related crimes.
A controversy arose after allegations surfaced that U.S. government forces in Afghanistan after the invasion of the country deliberately ignored bacha bazi. The U.S. military responded by claiming the abuse was largely the responsibility of the "local Afghan government".
Bacha bazi is a centuries-old practice. One of the original factors mobilizing the rise of the Taliban was their opposition to the practice. After the Taliban came to power in 1996, bacha bazi was banned. The Taliban considered it incompatible with Sharia law.
In 2014, Suraya Subhrang, child rights commissioner at the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission, stated that the areas practicing bacha bazi had increased.

We have Cubanos in our country for decades that still haven't learned the language. We have Haitians fleeing their country & arriving at our shores in the same category.
What makes the Afghans any different? Don't we have pedophiles in the Haitian & Cuban communities?

There are pedophiles in every group. There are homegrown pedophiles that walk around with impunity. I think the point he was making is that, in general, taking in refugees when our own shit is in disarray is probably a mistake. And amongst this particular group of refugees, there exist cultural child sex abuse. I had never heard of this stuff but just what I read on Wikipedia is pretty unsettling. These are the things that if one saw on a Vice News story or something, one would be outraged but to hear it from tox on covers it's swept under the rug with a Matt Gaetz quip. Matt Gaetz is a creep but this is on another level. And these are the people we are bringing in, because this shit definitely didn't fly amongst the Taliban. It was amongst our allies. This political back and forth has gotten so ridiculous that subjects like child sex abuse are met with flippant retorts.
Don't get me wrong, I believe in amnesty for those who aid our foreign pursuits. And it's unfair to take this and extrapolate, "Well, we're bringing in a bunch of pedophiles" but I would have no problem believing there is probably a pretty high rate amongst that group, just because it's culturally based.
