This is a story of a real life law enforcement officer who died while trying to execute a warrant in apprehending a child sex ring .

Two agents were killed 3 wounded.

Special Agent Laura Schwartzenberger and Special Agent Daniel Alfin were shot and killed while executing a search warrant in Sunrise, Florida, as part of an investigation involving child pornography and violent crimes against children.

A team was making entry into the apartment at 10100 Reflections Boulevard when a subject inside opened fire. Special Agent Schwartzenberger and Special Agent Alfin were fatally wounded, and three other agents suffered non-life-threatening wounds. The subject was found deceased inside of the apartment a short time later.

Special Agent Schwartzenberger had served with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for 15 years and was assigned to the Miami Field Office Innocent Images National Initiative.

In Sunrise, the pedophile shot through the front door where he knew the police were standing. 

Now South Florida officers stand away from the front door and all windows not only when they are serving warrants but also on domestic dispute calls.

Last year, covid killed more cops in the line of duty that bullets. Yet cops go about their business as if they are at war and every perp is a potential insurgent. A generation that grew up playing socom and call of duty. Then they put on their tactical chic uniforms... When I was a kid, cops wore uniforms. Cops now days dress up like special ops soldiers. They don't receive special ops soldier training though. They've got itchy trigger fingers.

Cops stopped being apart of the community.

They stopped being a person who can be trusted.

Rep Cortez stated in the capitol riots when the cop came to her office door she was unsure if he was there to harm her and her staff or their to assist her.

How can any of us common rubes trust that person?

US is home to 40% of the world's guns and gun death rates are among the highest in 20 years.  In countries with low gun ownership, police face dangerous situations less often than American police.  But when in danger, they are far more reluctant to use guns.  Although Switzerland has high gun ownership, murder rate is near zero and no mass shooting in 18 years.  Whereas US has a mass shooting almost every day.  The difference is due to stricter regulation and training in Switzerland.  Most people aren't allowed to carry their guns around.  Studies found weaker gun laws correlate with higher rates of killing by police who fear civilians may be carrying guns.  American police worry more about their own safety.
