The poll specifically asked whether voters feel that their own personal way of life is under threat from six different sources. Among these sources, majorities of the electorate say they personally feel threatened by Islamic terrorists (61%) and by the prospect of a Donald Trump presidency (54%). About 4-in-10 feel their way of life is threatened by the prospect of a Hillary Clinton presidency (42%), by the policies of the Republican Party (43%), or by the policies of the Democratic Party (39%). Just 28% say their personal way of life is under threat from illegal immigrants from Mexico.
It's also worth noting that the rating of how Congress is doing remains abysmally low at 14% approve and 78% disapprove. On the other hand, Pres. Barack Obama's job rating has taken a significant upturn in the past month, now standing at 56% approve and 40% disapprove. It was 49% approve and 46% disapprove in July.
Trump is paying for his abrasive rhetoric and relentless vindictiveness. I do expect the margin to narrow once he, the conservative PACs and/or the RNC begin advertising heavily. Of course that is based on the premise that Trump cuts down on unforced errors, which is no lock.

I get it that congress and the people who run congress are a joke... But seriously what exactly is it that congress is doing or has chosen to do that has America giving them such a low approval rating that probably should be even lower if you throw out the lemmings from the sample?

Good joke...

Democrats disapprove because the wrong party controls the congress. Republicans are unhappy because these politicians are too lazy to oppose Obama. The 14% who approve of this mess are the scary ones.

As a non-partisan independent, I get that you are stuck seeing things through a partisan view point but I think all of America is not happy because the failed strategy of oppositional gridlock has failed everyone regardless of party affiliation.
The whole tea party movement ends up being a complete failure for the GOP putting them in such a weak position and is fail for all Americans... I think we could have benefitted from level headed and experienced GOP legislators that knew how to get things accomplished rather than ones that mindlessly voted no but then didn't know what do beyond that...
You're right tho, the 14% who approve the job that the GOP legislative chose to give America are pretty disconnected or like you pointed out with the dems, mindlessly approve just because it's GOP... We seem to have a few partisan lemmings stuck in that fantasyland on this forum...
Glad you are not one
