IMO,  pppointed republican Sen Kelly Loeffler gets edge in debate over the good reverent Warnock.

This is largely due because ad hominems and stating falsehoods and dodging questions is not actually being scored.

Meanwhile the good reverend is an effective speaker but a piss-poor debater.  He should have countered Loeffler's repeated lies and dodging among other things but either was ill prepared or just unskilled.

Either way, Loeffler made her points to the trump base - which appeared to be the gameplan.

Her rhetoric will not sway any liberals or moderates, but it may not matter because Warnock was just plain weak.

Anyway, like I have stated now 3 times,  I will be betting on the two REPUBLICAN candidates to win the Senate seats and give the GOP a 52-48 majority.

It will be bad for the country for at least two years but this is the way I see it unfolding.

Just calling them the way I see them...

Like President Obama, Biden's presidency will get one hand tied behind his back by Mitch McConnell, aka the Grim Reaper. It won't be pretty when Grim Reaper stands in your way.

Precisely.  Absolute GRIDLOCK to any progress or improvement for America.

The Senate will oppose anything and everything.

The republicans like to think they are being "patriotic" by "having a check on the Democrats!"

And while that is true in one sense, in a very real world sense it also means NOTHING of any

substance gets approved -- even if it's good for America and inexpensive.

McConnell and accomplices will refuse and make up excuses but the real reason is they

simply don't want to give the Dems a "win" (ie. passing helpful legislation)

The republicans aren't about "governing" for the greater good....they are just in it for POWER.

It didn't used to be that way, but it is now....

We all suffer (including all republicans who aren't rich)  as a result

It won't be pretty when Grim Reaper stands in the way.

McConnell has ignored the second Covid economy relief bill for some 7 months, dude just doesn't care about those people suffer financially by this pandemic. Of course, those suffering Americans include millions of Republicans. McConnell only cares about ramming through as many court judges before Jan. 20, 2021 and cutting our Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid*.

    @fubah2

I watched the debate, Warnock came across as a country bumkin who did not have the mental capacity to counter Loeffler's continuous bullshitt....A Democratic puppet with Chuckie's fist deep up into that azzhole...regardless of political party; religion, and politics don't mix...take your PICK, a democratic preacher, or a republican bullshit-artist. I agree with your assessment, "give the GOP a  52-48 majority" however, I disagree wholeheartedly with your commentary "It will be bad for the country" in contrast to reality, it will balance the political climate in DC with the Democrat's hold on the House of Represenitives.

    true

on paper a balance of opposing power in congress might look like its a good thing but it never is in practice .

particularly the new reality .repos r known  as " the party of NO! " for a reason . they oppose and block everything no matter what . no bills get passed . the major complaint from the majority of americans on both sides is that washington sucks becuz nothing changes to make life better for THEM . split chambers now means regardless which chamber sponsors a bill the opposing chamber will block it . always

so life conditions and the economy will continue exactly the sad way it is now for the majority of people for a lengthy number of years to come until one party has both chambers of legislation .

we absolutely had to have a change in the presidency . but americans would be better served with the dems holding both chambers or even if the repos held both chambers . but a split congress is the absolute WORST scenario becuz  moving forward is perpetually stalled

Back in October, Pres. Trump was proposing a 1.8 trillion stimulus bill or even willing to exceed Dems' 2.2 trillion relief bill*, only Mr. Grim Reaper has had to ignore Trump's will to help millions of desperately help needed Americans. Mitch is the real deal in the disaster, he is only interested in cutting the Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, on those millions of people who got hurt economically by the Covid, none of his concerns whatsoever.

No doubt, this will be a tall order for the Dems to win both January Georgia runoffs. But can we see sweet spot for the sake of help needed millions Americans that Grim Reaper no more in control of the US Senate by Georgia voters in Jan. 5.
