So why does the right seem to not want to do ballot harvesting and early voting. I think both of these are bigger reasons than any policies the left has, for why the left won the midterms. I do agree that Election day should be a holiday, voting only in person, ID should be required and states should follow Florida for voting systems. Why do they shy away from taking every "advantage", including the ones outlined above.
Voting is still secure with early and absentee voting. Polls show most voters want voting to be easier. However republicans want to undermine democracy or majority rule. Allowing more people to vote would make it harder for republicans to win elections. Courts have determined that voting fraud is very rare and that voter suppression is a far greater problem. That is one of the reasons why US has a failing democracy.
