The legislation would provide a $65 billion investment in improving the nation's broadband infrastructure, according to the bill text.
The legislation aims to help lower the price households pay for internet service by requiring federal funding recipients to offer low-cost affordable plans, by creating price transparency and by boosting competition in areas where existing providers aren't providing adequate service. It would create a permanent federal program to help more low-income households access the internet, according to the White House.

To help pay for the infrastructure spending, the legislation would delay the implementation of a controversial Trump administration rule that would radically change how drugs are priced and paid for in Medicare and Medicaid. It's expected to save $51 billion.

It must pass the House where Dems only have a 3 vote majority.
It won't pass the House.
I stated this a few times before over the past year - razor thin majorities will still meaning virtually nothing significant gets passed.
There will always be a rogue one or 2 or 3 reps who will want plenty of national face time and quid pro quo in return for their votes, in either party.
Very progressive Dems will stall the bill for sure because they will insist on MORE - when MORE is just NOT plausible in this bill. Another bill perhaps, but not this one.
Won't matter. They will insist anyway and will not support any legislative language unless they get their way.
Large part of why Congress never gets anything done (applies to both parties)

This is badly needed. A win for education too!

Here's what we know so far about the latest version of the agreement: • Funding for roads and bridges • Money for transit and rail • Broadband upgrade • Upgrading airports, ports and waterways • Electric vehicles • Improving power and water systems • Environmental remediation

Mitch McConnell lauds Biden's infrastructure law as 'a godsend' while Trump attacks him for backing it
The Kentucky Republican was among 19 Republican senators who voted FOR the badly needed American Infrastructure bill in August.
Yet, disgraced former President Donald Trump has repeatedly slammed the infrastructure bill and urged Republicans to oppose it, arguing because it would deliver Biden a major legislative win.
He assailed it again on Sunday, and singled out McConnell:
"All Republicans who voted for [it] should be ashamed of themselves,” Trump wrote.
